Just in time...
Here I am sitting on my back porch listening to the quiet running generator on a blue bird sky day when there should be no power outages. Turns out, someone clipped a power pole and now the power is off. I received the generator 8 days ago. The electric start feature is terrific and the unit started right up. It's powering all my electronic gizmos and my fridge, quietly. After the engine starts, back slowly off the operating dial from Start to Run. The dial seems to control the choke and the engine wants to die a bit if not warmed up for 30 seconds or so. It's a hefty unit and the extendable suitcase type handles and wheels make moving it a breeze for this senior. Glad I have it!

Great Customer Service, nice quiet generator!!!!
We had issues with our generator, so we contacted customer support. Generator just would not start one day. We used it fairly often and runs very quietly. They sent us a new starter for no charge. That didn't work, so I contacted them again. After explaining to them that my husband was a electrician and mechanic for over 30 years and could not figure out what was wrong with the unit, they indicated they would ship out a replacement. Was not the easiest to get in contact with them initially; however, after a few e-mails and about a month of going back and forth, they honored their warranty and sent us a BRAND NEW GENERATOR. They did not require us to ship back the original one. So, we will be keeping it for parts for this one if something goes wrong with the new one.

Could have started a forest fire. DO NOT BUY THIS GENERATOR
We bought this generator for the quiet technology. When we first plugged our trailer into it, the trailer started blowing fuses. We chalked it up to a bad fuse somewhere. The second time we plugged it into our trailer, we noticed a couple more fuses had blown, and my husband's c-pap machine stopped working. Well, the next morning, when we woke up right behind the generator, there was a huge burn scare behind the exhaust. The brush was not tall at all, so it had not touched the exhaust in order for it to catch fire. If I could have given a zero star, I definitely would have. The oil level and everything was just fine, by the way. They did refund my money, but I am out of my husband's c-pap. It was fried somehow, and whatever it's going to cost to go through my trailer to check all the wiring.

Easy start, fits our needs
We had some weather near zero degrees without electric power for four days in an all electric home. This unit will run what we need in an emergency. We had an electrician install a transfer panel next to our electric service panel and we can plug the generator into an outside receptacle for safe and easy use on a dozen circuits in the service panel during a power outage. We have not used this generator in an emergency yet, just enough to break it in and keep the seals lubricated. It runs surprisingly quiet for an engine this size. Servicing the oil is difficult because of congestion and the position of the oil drain hose, but it's doable. The battery compartment is cramped as well, but accessible because of the removable panels on all sides. It takes a little extra time, but is doable. I installed a jack to plug the battery tender in to keep it topped off for that day we hope will never come and we need backup power. The rope start works, just pull hard! Great all around generator
I did a lot of research before choosing this generator. It is the perfect size and power, not too heavy and very portable, Inverter generator s provide more even and consistent power, it is very quiet, and the eco mode allows a huge gas savings , and longer life expectancy. However some literature said the oil is included but some did not.Very good buy.

Great Generator, reasonable noise, fired right up
Shipped this and had it sitting in my unheated garage in the shipping box for 2 months until I dragged it out and set it up. Easy setup, battery fired it right up. Ran smooth. Put some load on it and it was pretty quiet. Will be a small enclosure for it this spring. More importantly, now that i have it, have not lost power.

Lots of use
Been a great generator I have used it for 3 weekends now. Turn it on Thursday night and shut it off one time usually on Saturday morning to check the oil. Then run it till Sunday afternoon. Oil changes are fast brand easy with the drain. Change oil after every weekend. Runs 2 campers and doesn’t even idle up. Does use some gas but it’s a big generator. Very happy. Just maintain it!

Undersized and Weak Main Circuit Breaker
Undersized and Weak Main Circuit Breaker has Reached the Point of Non-Usability after less than 150 hours of runtime! Originally when we first got this unit and put it into service we were quite pleased with its overall performance and very happy that we could power our custom cargo trailer conversion RV with it. Overall the generator has been a good product and it is very quiet, almost as quiet as the Honda. But I have a serious issue with how it is configured in regards to how the unit is advertised as a 30A unit. The company that makes these Genmax 5500W Generators only puts a 21A double throw circuit main breaker on a circuit that is supposed to be 30A. When I first used the generator to power my 30A RV the unit worked okay and was able to power my LED lights (almost zero draw), 2 small 8" circulation fans, the 10 CU FT refrigerator/freezer and the 15,000 BTU roof air unit. But if I ran the microwave or the 120V on demand water heater with any of the other stuff running it would trip the breaker but I was able to adjust what we used to ensure we stayed within the limitation put in place by the 21A main breaker. But now 2 and 1/2 years later that 21A main breaker trips with anything more than the lights and refrigerator running. This unit has like 4 different circuit breakers on it... 2 for the standard outlet blocks which according to the user manual are 20A. Then there is a push to reset button supposedly for when or if the generator is overloaded but no info on what amperage that is set for. Then there is the "21A Main Circuit Breaker" (If the unit is a 30A unit then the "MAIN CIRCUIT BREAKER" should be 30A or its not a 30A unit.) which but is the ONLY BREAKER I have EVER had trip on this unit. Now I have eliminated the possibility that anything in my RV is causing this issue because I have run my buddy's Harbor Freight Predator 3500 Watt generator and not had any issues with tripping the breaker on it at all. Like I said the fact that they used an undersized 21A main circuit breaker should preclude them from advertising it as a 30A unit... But that aside, I definitely am going to fix it and replace the weak junk circuit breaker and see if I can fix what is wrong with it.
