Newest B&M volume is a sequel to one of the earlier originals

This is the latest Blake and Mortimer story. While Cinebooks has it marked as #19, its properly #22 and was released in 2013 in French. This is the first English translation. This is by a new team: writer Jean Dufaux and artists Antoine Aubin & Etienne Schréder. In terms of chronology, its actually set earlier, being a direct sequel to "The Yellow 'M'", the 6th volume, and everything flows from what happened in that story.Several threads are going on. Col Olrik is still affected by what happened in the Yellow M, and has taken refuge with former associates from his time as head of intelligence for Basam Damdu. Mortimer is experimenting with the machine build by Prof Septimus, as is another group of admirers. These 3 groups cause issues, while Blake is investigating things and discovered a root cause that is straight out of "Quatermass and the Pit".In the end, we have Olrik in an insane asylum. Obviously he gets better, as he will be plaguing B&M in many future stories. The next volume from Cinebooks is the next new volume. Then we should finally see the last 2 original EP Jacob's B&M volumes in 2016.

Fun adventure read

I love reading the original series as a kid. Still fun to read as an adult

Not one of Blake & Mortimer's best

Of all the Blake & Mortimer adventures this one was a real disappointment. The excellent artwork, articulate dialogue, and classic 50's atmosphere was still there, but the story line was muddled and lacked direction, the adventure was limited, and the outcome was unusually predictable. It's still worth a read and I'm glad that I bought the book, but it doesn't stack up compared with other recent offerings.

Item wonderful, Amazon delivery totally abysmal

Love the book, but damaged by someone that thinks it is ok to lie about handing it to me, and thinks you can fold books without damaging them
