The entire set of books in the series. These are classics that helped get my son interested in reading. Recommend for 3rd grade or older.

Good books at a decent price. I had to teach my granddaughter to be able to read these due to the dialect used by the main character, but the stories are good and she is enjoying them.

My granddaughter loved this series. Shiloh is a likable, huggable, precious dog. The story involves a youngster who finds the dog and so wants to keep it, but the family is pooor and can hardly afford food, let alone a pet. As the story evolves, the youngster is in a moral predicament and the reader watches him deliberate about his choice to obey his dad or help out the dog. provides opportunity for discussion on consequences of lying but also on how one might solve a problem.

Shiloh is the best dog book ever written because Marty has some difficult moral dilemmas to face. Should he break the law and steal a dog that loves him or should he allow Judd Travers, the meanest old man in the history of mean old men, to continue to starve and abuse Shiloh? We WANT Marty to break the law! All books in the series are excellent for grades 3 and up.

A great all in one trilogy about the heart warming story about a boy and a dog.

This is a delightful series. It's not just about "a boy and his dog." The story is much deeper than that. But it's told in a consistently believable style and tone that keeps you hooked (and sniffling from time to time). The series also holds up quite well from the first book to the last (which is "A Shiloh Christmas" and NOT included in this set - watch out for the listing which seems to imply that the set has all four books!) Each book has its own compelling story; you can read them in order or not, and they're just as good. Definitely recommended for any age.

Great set to give to your children to break away from the electronics for a bit.
