PAUA BLUE (1 pcs) abalone shell inlay veneer 9.5 x 5.5 x 0.006 inch

This stuff is just as beautiful as expected, very iridescent and lustrous. Be warned though, it is very thin and delicate and cracks easily. Must be handled with extreme care. Also, here’s a protip: applying a lacquer finish to this overlay increases the shine and iridescence and makes it breathtakingly dazzling.

I had to replace missing pieces in this pendant and this material was great. Although it is brittle, it can be cut with scissors and I fixed it quickly with some superglue. Very happy

Great Color

This is a very good quality and beautiful product, but its adhesive-backing's qualities are limited, and it tends to separate from even cleaned surfaces under unintentional solvents like many varieties of epoxy resin. When using this product, I do my seal coat (first coat above veneer) using pins to hold the veneer in place so that it does not drift or re-position itself. It is quite satisfactorily beautiful, but it takes extra care and skill to work with.

Great looking natural material, extremely delicate. Have not yet worked with it but I bet it will be a challenge. I’m sure it will eventually look great.Removed a star because it will require a good deal of worksmanship to use.

Just beautiful! I brought this to make a crown and it turned out well. However it says you can use very sharp scissors to cut it and that didn’t work. It kept shattering. You have to very careful when handling!

Very easy to break into the size pieces I needed, either with my hands or scissors…This 19th century box looks restored to its original glory! Have tons left over , to save for future projects.It was a small sheet, but perfect for what I needed it for. Nice sheen and patina on the abalone.
