Excellent!
Definitely pleased with this purchase. The knife is truly crafted with professional chef quality Weight & balance is perfect. Edge is refined & sharpend evenly & consistent. Spine is firm & the hammered black finish on Damascus steel is as good as it gets. Handle is well designed to ensure your grip is solid, even when you're slicing something greasy. The color is a matter of personal preference. The orange is irrelevant to me. If anything, I can see & select it from the "block" much easier. Definitely 5 ⭐'z from me here. Noting the sale price is a bargain. I would be equally satisfied for twice this price. Form/function/face = fantastic.. I Highly recommend.

Beautiful Chef Knife, a real Damascus blade beautifully engraved. Razor Sharp, Great Value.
Incredible Damascus knife, this is the real deal and not a knockoff. Looks great, easy to use, substantial high quality material both blade and handle, very sharp, like razor sharp. Great material and great engraving on blade.

A hefty chef knife with an outdoor influence
The Topfeel 8 Inch Damascus Chef Knife is an interesting blade for the kitchen. It looks and feels a lot like a cross between a chef's knife and an outdoor knife - the damascus pattern and layered G10 scales do nothing to change that opinion, and the size and proportion of the blade and handle help in that area as well. The description of the knife all seems to be accurate, although I'm not 100% sure about the real Damascus steel part. There's no dimensionality to the pattern and I can't see it in the ground angle at the heel, and then the unground parts of the knife have a black coating feathered out into the ground parts that obscures the visibility. But the knife is nonetheless beautiful and hefty. It comes fairly sharp out of the box and seems to hold that edge fairly well. I think it has enough merits on its own that I'm not devastated if the Damascus pattern turns out to be cosmetic only. The 2mm thick blade and hunting-blade style G10 scales give this knife a manly, industrial feel. The scales have a lot of sculpting for comfort, though that sculpting is limited to the outer black and orange layers, so it is fairly shallow. It is reasonably comfortable to hold in the hand, and the sculpted points line up well with my hand. The edges along the top can be a bit sharp and I will probably sand a little more roundness into them. Likewise the edges at the spine of the blade near the handle have been lightly dressed but are still fairly sharp and can cause some pressure when using a pinch grip at the base of the blade. I found it better to move the pinch grip back onto the blade, which is still effective due to its relatively narrow profile. This is actually the balance point of the knife (shown in the attached picture) and there are sculpted indentions in the grip to make this a natural gripping point. Cutting both meats and vegetables is easy because the blade is really sharp. The blade is relatively thick, though, so I find it easier to do thicker slices. Maybe this is mental or due to a difference in how I hold it. It makes quick work of chopping the trinity for a gumbo, though. The scales on the handle are actually removable with two hex screws. I took mine apart and did discover some moisture ingress beneath the handles from washing after use. Though I dried the rest of the knife carefully, some drops of water had gotten under the scales. The black coating is present on the tang as well so hopefully rust will not be an issue. There's a lanyard hole at the butt, though I couldn't see hanging a knife of this stature or sharpness without some sort of sheath. I do appreciate that this knife does not have a large logo laser etched on the blade. The clean look is better. I'd recommend this knife for outdoorsy men with larger hands as the grip has some height to it. It would be quite at home in an outdoor kitchen as well. With proper care to hand wash and dry, occasional oiling, and care for the edge, I can see this knife lasting a long time.

My First Damascus Knife and It’s Extremely Sharp, Easy to Grip, and Outperforms My Other Knives
I ordered this knife because I’ve been looking for a new chef knife for a few months. I had originally been shopping for a regular stainless steel knife, but when I came across this one on Amazon, I realized I had never heard of a Damascus knife before. That led me to do some research before deciding whether to order it. What is a Damascus knife? I learned that a true Damascus knife is made by forging multiple layers of steel together, which creates a very durable blade that can hold a razor‑sharp edge. The product description says this knife has a VG‑10 steel core and 67 layers of steel. I learned that VG10 is considered the gold standard for high‑end Japanese Damascus knives. It’s a high‑quality stainless steel that contains carbon, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, and cobalt, which results in a blade that maintains a very sharp edge for longer periods than other steels. A 67‑layer VG10 Damascus knife is generally considered a premium or mid‑to‑high‑range knife, not just an average one. There is no way for me to confirm that this knife is truly made from VG10 steel with 67 layers, but that is what the product description states. This knife measures about 13 inches long overall, with an 8‑inch blade and a 5‑inch handle. It came in a nice box with a plastic tip covering the end of the blade, which I appreciated because of how sharp it is. The knife is beautiful in person, and the layered pattern on the blade is exactly what I hoped it would look like. The handle is a good size and has indentations that fit your fingers, so it’s very easy to grip and feels secure in my hand. The knife is razor sharp - dramatically sharper than any of my other kitchen knives. I can’t explain how sharp it is. When I first got it, I lightly touched the edge just to see how sharp it was and ended up slicing my finger. Ever since then, I’ve been extremely careful when handling it. Of course, I’ve been handwashing this knife, as I would never put my good knives in the dishwasher. This knife looks very cool, but more importantly, it performs incredibly well. It glides through vegetables, meat, and anything else I’ve tried cutting with almost no effort. It feels solid, well balanced, and very durable. After researching Damascus knives and VG10 steel, I was excited to try this one, and it absolutely lived up to my expectations. I love it!

Nice but handle shape not so much
Knife is well built but shape Handle not so good i used at work kept hitting knuckles on cutting board as I chopped chicken breast. Knife doesn't feel comfortable in hand but not too bad for home use. Knife looks good but doesn't work for my work.

Consider your application first
Considering your use case really matters when purchasing a knife. Unfortunately, this one does not quite do it for daily use. I have been very curious about the Topfeel brand, especially with how cool some of their knives look! While I am not a professional chef, I do have formal culinary schooling and experience, and my partner is a French trained professional chef. We have a lot of knives, what's one more? This thing is a beast. It is very substantial and makes it known with a rugged, outdoorsy feeling design and handle style. The blade is almost too thick to do any fine slicing, but the steel (maybe Damascus?) appears to be decent quality, holds an edge well, and should hold up after many sharpenings. The weight is ok, lighter than I expected given the size and thickness, and it balances well, although not as well in my smaller hands. It is important to note that the heel is not flush with the rest of the blade so you cannot make full contact with your cutting board. I think we both agreed that our biggest grip is the handle. You can feel some of the screws while using it, and while the ergonomically inspired shaping is decent, it is still only decent, Gripping can be uncomfortable after a while unless you have a certain sized hand, especially with the corners being more angular. Speaking of screws, pop those babies off every once in a while to clean and dry underneath the handle to prevent corrosion and oil the length of the shank to promote a water resistance between the steel and handle pieces. We will most likely put this into our camping supplies, or reserve this for occasional home use. It does not suit finer prep work, and while the blade is sharp, it will not be replacing any of our daily driver knives.

Excellent quality, very, very sharp
When I saw this Japanese chef knife I was very impressed. It is not only beautiful, elegant and good quality it is functional. The knife feels well balanced and does not feel very heavy in my hands. I did a 'paper test' to check how sharp it is. This knife is very, very sharp, the knife just sliced the paper easily, very impressive test. I had some slightly frozen meat I cut through it like butter using the Topfeel chef’s knife. It was amazing! This would make a wonderful gift for anyone who loves to grill or cook. It is made of premium high-carbon stainless steel. I personally prefer to wash and dry my knife by hand rather than the dishwasher. It is rust and corrosion resistant. I am very happy I finally have a knife that is easy to use and will last a long, long time. I’ve been using this knife for a few months and it’s still as sharp as the first day I got it. I highly, highly recommend this Topfeel Japanese chef’s knife. It is a really good value for the money.

Extremely SHARP but PERFECT
This knife measures about 13 inches long overall, with an 8‑inch blade and a 5‑inch handle. It came in a nice box with a plastic tip covering the end of the blade, which I appreciated because of how sharp it is. It is also a heavy weighted knife, which gives me a secure feel while holding and using it. When I first got it, I lightly touched the edge just to see how sharp it was and I’ve already knicked myself a few times. Ever since then, I’ve been extremely careful when handling it. I’ve been handwashing this knife, as I would never put my good knives in the dishwasher. This knife looks very cool, but more importantly, it performs incredibly well.
