A great addition my tank critters love!!
I recently added the JOR Water Conditioner Calcium Rocks to my aquarium, and I couldn't be happier with the results! These rocks have proven to be a fantastic enhancement for my tank, particularly for my baby shrimps, isopods, and crayfish. From the moment I introduced the calcium rocks, I noticed that my tank critters absolutely adore them! The shrimps love to explore and perch on the rocks, and I've observed them nibbling away as they benefit from the added calcium. It's fantastic to see them thrive in an environment where they can naturally forage and interact with their habitat. The rocks have also greatly improved the overall water quality and hardness in my aquarium. As a water conditioner, they work effectively to buffer pH levels, promoting a stable environment that is crucial for the health of my aquatic pets. I appreciate that they contribute to the well-being of my little ecosystem without any adverse effects. Additionally, the aesthetic appeal of the JOR Calcium Rocks is a bonus. They add a natural look to the tank and create an interesting landscape for my critters to explore. It’s gratifying to watch them interact with their surroundings, and I can tell they appreciate the addition to their home. Overall, I highly recommend the JOR Water Conditioner Calcium Rocks for anyone looking to enhance their aquarium for baby shrimps, isopods, and crayfish. Not only do they serve a crucial functional purpose in maintaining water quality, but they also provide a vibrant and engaging environment for your tank inhabitants. My critters are healthier and happier, and I couldn’t ask for a better product!

Yay! Oops! Ugh
Thought I was doing a good thing for my shrimp and snails, and the white rocks looked so nice against the dark substrate in the tank. I rinsed the dust (so much dust!), soaked the rocks, and rinsed again before adding them to my 42 gal tank. My water parameters were way off 3 days later. My shrimp died before I caught it and my fish were lethargic and flashing. Took all but the tiniest of the rocks out, half water change, pulled every trick I know to balance water parameters quickly and got things back to normal. DO NOT ADD THE WHOLE BAG TO YOUR TANK. It's a tiny little bag, but the high mineral content will mess things up. Now I'm afraid to put any more of these rocks in my tank!

Great source of calcium
I notice my snails and shrimp munching on theses and their cuttlebones all the time. I do a water change every two weeks at which time I chang out the stones and the cuttlefish bones. I just added new shrimp but the one that was in my 30-gallon tank (a freebee that got caught in the net at the pet store), is HUGE. It pays to give your invertebrates calcium rich foods along with something like these rocks and cuttlebones.

It takes too long to receive the package.
The package took too long to arrive, and nearly half of the shrimp were dead on arrival mostly the orange ones. It appeared the shipment included more than 15 shrimp, but many were extremely small babies, and several more died within a few days despite proper drip acclimation. Only one medium sized blue shrimp survived, even though I expected at least two or three in a mixed batch. Of the original group, about six shrimp have survived and are currently doing well. Overall, the purchase was not worth it. Considering the price and low survival rate, I would have been better off buying locally, where I could have gotten the same number of surviving shrimp for the same cost.
