Space saver bags worked well. No problems using them.

These bags are amazing. I'm bought my first set last summer on Prime Day when they were in sale. In the past, I had purchased space saver bags but they required a vacuum which limited their versatility (if you're in a place without a vacuum when you open one up, you're in a bit of a pickle). I love these because they are so easy and convenient to use. I can't quite wrap my head around how air goes out and not back in, but they work like a charm. I used a couple medium bags when traveling for two weeks in Europe and limited to carry on luggage. I was able to fit so much stuff in my backpack that it was ultimately too heavy and I ended up having to beg family with checked bags to pack some of my things home. Fortunately, I'd equipped them with space saver bags for the trip as well so it was no problem! Despite opening and resealing the bags easily 6 or 7 times during my trip, they held up beautifully. The plastic is very sturdy and I never experienced any tears or leaks. The only thing to be careful of is that you don't lose the white sealing clasp that could slide off if you're not paying attention. I didn't have any issues but my absent-minded father did manage to lose the clasp to his (personally, I feel this is more reflective of my father vs the bags).

First impressions: "this isn't gonna work. I'm gonna have to return these" Final impressions: "it worked!!!" For reference, the pictures show a brown plush body pillow and a large memory foam Bamboo pillow. These are two very large pillows and I always stuff them in my duffel bag when I spend the night places. The dufful can barely fit the two pillows, clothes and toiletries. Im always pulling the two sides of the zipper together so it'll close. These bags are INCREDIBLE! both pillows compressed without any issues. And they're practically flat. They fit easily into my duffel with PLENTY of room to spare. What others have said: In the context of travel, people have claimed that the bags expanded if left overnight before they pack their suitcases. My response to that is whether or not they expand, the only thing that matters when traveling is your ability to fit everything in your suitcase and close it. The bags will not expand in your suitcase because of the force the rest of your luggage exerts on whatever is in these bags. And even if they do expand, your suitcase will be able to contain it. The only thing this may not be good for is long term storage. But I've owned these for about an hour. So I can't speak for that use case Conclusion: this in an incredible product for the price. Especially considering how many bags you get. Perfect if you're going on a long trip but don't want to be burdened with checked baggage. However if you're expecting to pack things and not get them wrinkled, forget it. Use the extra space to pack a travel iron.

These are truly excellent. They really work, and no vacuum required. The fact that they are clear is a big help so that you can see what is inside without opening. I push they last air out by putting them on the floor and using my knees or chest. I have been using them for years, and they are simple and work perfectly.

For the lightening price I paid they were great. Had I paid full price, I would have not been as happy. They make packing take a lot longer and it is fairly difficult to get the air out and close the bag at the same time, but they do save space. Used these for a snow trip so we had to pack a ton of bulky and heavy weighted clothing and blankets. They fit in my rolling suitcase but I think a large duffle bag would have been easier to pack them in. I had 3 bags in my large suitcase but it barely closed. Not worth the hassle during the warmer months. I do not recommend these for the elderly, sick or injured. You must be able to sit on the bag whilst zippering it up. The zipper is not easy to get right and the zipper pieces come off easily make it so you have to transfer zippers between bags if you lose them during packing. I would definitely elect to use vacuum sealed bags if I know I will have access to a vacuum on my travels.

I was hesitant to purchase these over priced garbage bags. I couldn’t understand how they can compress clothing without use of a reverse air pump .. but they do work great!! I love the 2 diff sizes, i didn’t use the zipper pulls u are suppose to add on and just sealed them manually like a zip lock bag. Then pushed the air out as instructed. amazing engineered bag design. I also love that I can compartmentalize my clothing into groups of dressy and casual bags. These bags will wrinkle some clothing, but I only packed travel fabric items so not an issue. The main reason i purchased these bags is for storing all my dirty clothing end of trip to compress them down and keep from smelling and taking up too much room. But surprisingly I ended up using them to pack my entire carry on suit case for 2 weeks worth of outfits !! They are reusable and appear to be decent quality. I am curious if they will hold up for multiple uses over time with the air release technology not “popping” or leaking air . I highly recommend these for travel , storage or dirty or wet items -

I bought these when they were discounted on Prime Day; I don't fly very often, but I knew I had somewhere to go in August. I just returned from my trip and am pleased with how they performed. My trip was for five days, and I wanted to get everything I would need, including an orthopedic pillow, into my carry-on bag. I was a little concerned that my arthritis in my hands and tendinitis in my wrists would make this a nonstarter, but after reading other reviews I decided to give it a go. Sure enough, the bulk of the clothing was reduced considerably, and rolling the bags was done easily without hurting myself. The issue of wrinkles was raised by other reviewers, and so I was cautious. I had one pair of pants that I thought would wrinkle in these bags, and so I didn't put that item into a bag. Mostly I was packing blouses and tee shirts, and I chose fabrics that pack well like matte jersey, crinkle cloth, and lightweight short sleeve cotton sweaters. All of these came out of the bags wearable with no problem. I didn't unpack them right away, but only got into the bags when I was ready to wear the tops, and even after sitting in one of these bags for days on end rolled together with another top, they were fine. The friend I was visiting had seen another product that was similar, but the one she had seen was less simple and prone to failure. She said these are better. The fifth star isn't given here simply because I am not sure the ease provided would be worth the cost if you are paying the regular price asked on Amazon. I got it marked down a bit, and I feel I have received my money's worth. My spouse travels to a conference annually and has had to fight to get everything of his into a carry-on bag; I showed him these little goodies and so he plans to use them also. A good product.

These are great. Much better than the vacuum version.

Years ago I bought some Ziploc brand bags for travelling and they held up okay, but the zippers eventually let go and therefore would no longer provide any vacuum. We were headed to Hawaii with just carryon and I wanted to replace the old bags. I can't find the branded ones, but tried these. I used the old ones for our trip and of course, had a lot of extra air in my suitcase. My husband used these ones and you would swear he used a machine to vacuum out the air (he is pretty strong, but still it was impressive). The amount of room he had left in his carryon, even with clothes and shoes for 10 days, was amazing. I may have used some of his room on the return trip for my purchases... I won't bother with the old bags any more after seeing how much room he had. The largest bags would work well for checked luggage, he used the middle sized bags for his carry-on suitcase. I suggest sorting your clothes by shirts, pants, underwear so you can put the bags directly into the dresser when you arrive, and easily pick out what you want. Take an extra empty bag along to bring back any clothes/soft purchases. The bags will cause wrinkles, but I fold then roll all of our clothes and the wrinkling is minimal, plus you also save a lot of space with this step alone. Save on checking your bags and buy these, they will pay for themselves in one trip.
