Dell Chromebook 11 3180 RH02N 11.6-Inch Traditional Laptop (Black)

I was shopping for a laptop and saw this one for $41 and couldn't believe the price. After researching, I found more about the whole Chromebook thing. My old laptop is over 20 years old. It has been a while. So, Google Chrome has created its own operating system and is competing with Microsoft. Well, excuse me for being out of the loop for so long. This $41 laptop started up immediately and started working in about 10 minutes. I was worried that most of my computers are Windows operating system, and I have not yet resolved that problem. The good thing is that I use Gmail, and this laptop downloaded it right away, being that it is a google product. I bought it mainly to replace this old laptop that seemed to be having some problems while traveling. It also has an HDMI port, which works well for hooking to a larger TV monitor. All in all, I just wanted a CPU that could drive it all, and then plug in a larger monitor and a better mouse. On first hookup, I connected the laptop to the internet, and it worked fine with my YouTube premium. I have yet to check it out with other stuff, but it looks pretty good. Especially for just $41.

I didn't really understand what a chromebook was when I purchased it so the learning curve....is still there. I purchased it for my kid because he likes to practice his school work on the website the school uses and I'm hoping to get him into coding. It's great for stuff like that. Youtube, netflix. I wouldn't really suggest it for someone hoping to use it every day for work. Though I'm sure you could in a pinch. It's really a solid little thing. I trust it's durability way more than I trust that of my personal $1,500 laptop.

I saved so much money and I was able to use this chrome book for school and making brochures for my business. It was in good condition & very easy to set up & use! Excelled value for the money!

I didn't write a review immediately after buying this bc I wanted to see how it did over time. I'm glad I waited. I bought this for my husband 7 months ago. It did ok, not great, during the first few months then it started acting up. Not loading pages until he shut it down and turned it back on and it was considerably slower. This happened no matter where he was so it wasn't a WiFi issue. It doesn't have a restart so he had to shut it down. There are no updates that are shown and you can't put virus protection on it. Supposedly, all that is within but who knows. We won't get another one and we don't recommend getting this one.

Laptop is working very well, but a AC Power doesn't work.

Battery life and durability are good, especially considering the price. However, the space bar takes more effort than standard to use. In order for it to work, you pretty much have to hit it dead center in the middle. This slows down typing speed considerably. However, I've enjoyed it as a travel laptop.

This is a great little computer. I have not been a Chromebook fan in years past, but I took another look this year and found the Google Extension library to be filled with just about everything you'd want on your Windows PC. I stuck a micro 128GB disk in one USB port and my Yubikey 4 Nano and appropriate extension for MFA to boot. This is very much a school rig so it's fairly tough right out of the gate, but I added the Gumdrop Cases Droptech Chromebook Case for Dell Chromebook 11 3180 Rugged Shock Absorbing Cover Black BTS00C318011US and now it looks like a road worthy laptop. This is by no means a laptop for every person or application, but if you have not taken a look at Chrome OS for a while, you might be pleasantly surprised about what a sub $250 Chromebook can do for you. And if you drop of loose it you won't be heartbroken like you it had been a Mackbook Pro or a Surface Pro 4.
