The product is good as described
The resealable bag is a nice touch, keeping the anise fresh for longer. Adding a couple of these star anise pods into the broth brings a subtle, yet distinct, licorice-like flavor that complements the meats and veggies beautifully.I gave it 3* because amason delivery staff left the parcel in the heat unattended but have put on my account that the parcel was handed directly & signed!which is not acceptable!UAE must do something about this

Super Spicy, Versatile, Excellent for Homemade Spice Mix!
Years ago, I used this for baking and chai, but the spicy "zing" was entirely lacking. Flat. I switched to a well respected, small business manufacturer and was beyond satisfied... Until I wasn't. The last packet was clumped, wet, and long past the expiration date. So, due to the insane expense of quality, reliable (safe!) ginger, decided to take the risk and give the Handpick/Vahdam ginger another try. It's excellent! Not certain if this is a one-time-excellent batch, but for the time being, I can simply enjoy, reap the benefits of - and savor the essential kick that's necessary in my daily masala chai! As for baking, I can guarantee that this batch would be the perfect addition to your homemade "Pumpkin Pie Spice" mix. The texture is neither gritty, nor soft. It's just right. After measuring individually, I simply mix my Pumpkin Pie Spice: Combine the ground ginger, nutmeg, Ceylon cinnamon, cloves, cardamom (allspice, if I'm lucky), and pour them into my McCormick spice shaker, and store in a dark cabinet or the fridge. The ginger is spicy, and versatile, and my homemade Spice Mix is at the ready for chai, desserts, even homemade whipped cream or coffee creamer. Enjoy!!

Finally an answer to lemon flavor that doesn't overwhelm.
I love lemon and have always used it on veggies. But lemon juice is very acidic, so I tried this. I added 2 tsp. To the water I was using to steam squash. The flavor was perfect. You can put as little or as much as you want, depending on how strong you want the flavor. Additionally, many recipes include this herb.
