Meguiar's Ultimate Polish, High-Gloss Pre-Wax Car Polish - 20 Oz Bottle

Used this with a DA and pads I purchased off of Amazon. It's been 3 weeks and the black 2016 civic looks better than when I purchased it brand new off the lot. The black is deep and super shiny. I did claybar the car first using Meguiar's claybar kit to remove debris and impurities. Polishing took me about 4 hrs but I took my time and got in every cranny. I even used this on exterior plastic pieces and they look great weeks later. I highly recommend getting the Meguiar's brand yellow microfiber towels as they are much softer than other brands. This is not the time to skimp on materials and put swirls into your paint which I have experienced from other yellow microfiber towels. Spend the extra few dollars on good quality microfiber towels.

I neglected my 2000 Ford Ranger(white) for over 5 years of sitting outside in the Florida sun and rain. The truck was green with mold which had to be scrubbed off with a brush. There was no shine to the finish and water immediately wet the entire surface without a single bead. I purchased the Meguiar’s Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Ultimate Wax after watching a Youtube video on the differences between the Mequiar’s Ultimate Compound and the old school TW brand. The results are simply amazing. I followed the instructions to the letter, using a HF DA, doing 2 sq. feet at a time. The finish immediately improved with the Ultimate compound (3-4 overlapping passes). The surface was smooth and shiny but not veryglassy until I used the Ultimate polish (3-4 overlapping passes). You can actually feel the difference in the surface after apply the Ultimate polish and the color is richer and deeper. You need to immediately wipe the polish off, do not let it dry on the surface, it will be difficult to remove. Wetting it down with a water mist will help should you not remove it before it dries. The Ultimate wax is unique and does not really leave any “white haze” and you start to wonder if you applied any wax or not to that area, but the water bead is as good as any other wax. This lack of white haze is nice because it does not make your rubber trim white as with other traditional waxes. 20oz of Ultimate compound and polish covered my Ranger and Volvo. The wax came 16oz and I needed a few more oz’s to finish the 2nd car. Overall, the Mequiar’s three step system is a little higher in cost but worth every penny.

This works well. My vehicles are between 3 and 8 years old. I can get buy using this polish once every 1-2 years. My vehicles keep a nice shiny gloss for at least a year or so, then start to fade to the original gloss. I use a clay bar or Meguiar's Compound prior to this polish. I follow up with a wax. It takes a bit of time, and you'll want a dozen or more microfiber towels for the entire detail process. However, I can get buy doing this full detail every two years or slightly sooner, if I have time (which I usually don't!).
