I tried the rack on my 2003 Nissan Sentra SE-R and sadly it would not fit even though the chart said it would.. With the supplied hooks, the rack will not lay flush on the roof. It seems like a good product and well priced and that it would do the job. I want to carry a canopy tent that does not fit inside of the car. I contacted seller about the rack not fitting on the car. They immediately and very generously offered to give a full refund without needing to return the product, and to go through all of the hassle of packing up and shipping it back! Amazingly great service.

This rack, once installed, tends to loosen over time, especially at highway speeds. During a cross country trip, we constantly had to adjust the rack - keeping it tight to the car. The rubber sleeves for the feet are essentially useless, falling off eventually. Additionally, there is a significant flaw in the design where the two plastic screws that hold the cross bar interfere with each other when you tighten them, along with a lip close to the edge of the car that does not seem to allow the rack to be properly tightened on the screw that touches that edge. All this to say, we lost the rack after about 2000 miles of travel, one of the plastic screws failed and the rack and our Thule were lost on the highway. Thankfully, no one was behind us at the time, so only the thule and the rack were lost - not an injury to another person or vehicle - which would have been tragic. Do not buy this rack.

Bars are flimsy, not enough space between the thumb screws to adjust the width to secure them in place. When used with kayak J-hooks the kayaks bounce uncontrollably. Fine for slow back road driving. Not fit to secure loads for highway driving.

I would rate this a 0 if I could. I bought this rack for my daughter's and my BRAND NEW KAYAK... I used this rack twice! First time we got my daughter's kayak home. The man at the store who had the same fishing kayak.. helped secure and make sure everything was safe and good to go, but the front rack was loose when we got home. I went to pick up my NEW KAYAK, and the same scenerio.... and 1/2 way home, I heard a crack then saw the tip of my kayak go flying .. Luckily I was in the slow lane going 40 mph on a hwy and when I stopped the rack was all over the road and my kayak on the side of the road. DO NOT BUY THIS RACK.... the part that connect the rack to your car IS PLASTIC.. I questioned it when I got it but the reviews were good, so I bought it. THE METAL is VERY LIGHT for what is needed... LUCKILY- no parts hit any cars, and although my NEW KAYAK I haven't even used yet is banged up and I won't know until I put it in the water if there are any seam issues. SAVE AND SPEND THE MONEY ON A THULE or YAKIMA rack! **note- I asked for a refund from the seller and Amazon SAYS they refunded my money, but it has been almost a week and NO REFUND in my account.

1. The mixed reviews keep me slightly paranoid, but the paranoia leads me to checking my rack nearly every day and testing the clamps and screws to make sure they are still snug. So far so good. I recommend checking and tightening and adjusting as it settles every day for a while until it settles (temps can affect the malleability of the metal clamps). I have since added a cargo basket on this, drove around with it empty for a few weeks and adjusted and tightened as I needed, and have since traveled with a few items to test-run. I don't recommend going over 65 mph with a full cargo. And pack your cargo basket as best with aerodynamics in mind too. Wind shear is a powerful thing and even the strongest of racks struggle with wrongly packed loads. 2. The directions are horrible. When I take my rack off this winter, I will reverse-create extremely detailed instructions as even though I scoured Amazon, YouTube and Google and I could not find sufficient videos or instructions for this. I took my time figuring things out for my car and I would want to share what I did to help others with Priuses too. 3. It's always recommended to have a professional install this, but I don't believe any professional will put their stamp of approval on this as it's not theirs. I am obviously NOT a professional either and I've never assembled and installed a roof rack on a car. But I have spent years watching and observing others' set-ups. 4. Take your time- it took me 3 hours on a lovely holiday afternoon, but I wanted it to be perfect and so far it is because I did not rush trying to solve this big puzzle. I will hopefully be able to add to this review with even more positive feedback in a few months and after a few uses. See you all in a few months!
