Better than perfect replacement! It is thinner but more flexible than the original. Seems it will be much more durable. Perfect fit both extended and reversed for storage.

I am a repeat purchaser of JJC products and have referred others to their product line. I replaced the Nikon lens hood that I lost with this lens hood, and it works great.

The item is poorly made. It is not symmetrical and the alignment dot does not lign up w camera. Returning it for refund since I am not sure if a replacement would be the same???

A very helpful review from 2023 illustrated that at that time the LH-HB112 hood for the Nikon 12-28 was the wrong shape (petals too long) and caused bad vignetting. As of the date of this review (Sept 2025) the hoods JJC is sending with the same part number have a corrected design that now nearly matches the Nikon design and no longer vignettes. Note that also as of this date the Amazon product photo is still of the old too large design, but if you go to the JJC website it shows photos of the new corrected design. So hurray! The LH-HB112 now works just as well as the Nikon version. And for that matter as well as other JJC hoods I've used in the past which have always nearly matched their OEM versions. Not sure how they got it wrong initially with this one, but as of now at least it works great on the Nikon Z 12-28 DX.
