Many works have been written on the nature of diabolic warfare but the contents which are necessary to know are scattered across many different works of the approved authors. Historically, the texts written about exorcism and deliverance were largely in Latin, were not a synthesis of the knowledge of experienced exorcists. The goal of this book is to provide that initial synthesis for the laity. This book is not written in a popular style. It is a bit more technical than most laity are accustomed to. It is not meant to be a quick or easy read, but to provide a thoroughness and a proper level to a theological topic which often is only addressed on a superficial level. Since this book also deals with the intersection of the diabolic with human psychology, it is highly recommended that the reader, prior to studying this text, has at least the fundamental knowledge of human psychology from a Thomistic point of view. To that end, it is recommended that he reads this author’s work Introduction to the Science of Mental Health (available here: sentradpress.com). While that may result in putting off the reading of this book for a while, nevertheless, the reader is most likely to grasp the points made regarding the intersection between diabolic and human psychology. This text is only to be understood to be a beginning or a foundation and not be considered an exhaustive text, despite its length. It is simply not possible to incorporate all of the wisdom of the Church in the various texts throughout the centuries. Topics include: angelology, demonology, the structure of authority, the different kinds of diabolic influence in detail, wounds and healing, the role of the sacraments and sacramentals as well as general methods of combat. I'm on my reading glasses and still the fonts of the book are quite small for me and right now I'm taking photos of the entire book and reading it in that manner which is unpleasant for me. Hoping this review would reach the publisher and make a kindle version of this book. I will surely buy it again. Thank you Fr. Chad Ripperger.

THE manual on the topic
Illuminating; don't give up after the first chapter, which is the most complex to read! Respect for Fr. Ripperger for having the intellectual ability and education for such a highly educational read. Also, his translations from St. Thomas are his own. People, he's someone who not only understand Latin, but understands it well enough to translate the Summa. Compared to the books of Fr. Amorth, this one has way more detailed and it's THE manual for understanding this part of our doctrine. God bless him for this book and his works.

A great book about spiritual warfare and how it affects us
I'm from the Philippines and recently bought this book (April 2026). I really like the content of it. I covered the book with plastic to make it last longer. This book is packed with knowledge about the nature of Angels and Demons and how they interact with us. This is a great book for the layman. I just wish that the publisher would produce a kindle version so that I could read it better, digitally mark my highlights and bookmark it. Outstanding but not an easy read
I agree with the high praise expressed in other reviews. The book deserves a 5-star rating because Dominion certainly fulfills its purpose to the highest degree. The depth of Father Ripperger's knowledge, expertise, and scholarship comes through and is impressive. He consolidates information from a vast number of sources to support every assertion, which is a great help to a non-expert like myself. The section on authority structures is especially valuable to those of us lay people who want to understand "the rules of the game" related to the spiritual battle in which we are engaged. I have been listening to Youtube recordings of Father Ripperger's conferences for a long time and in reading the book, I could almost hear his voice. What a blessing to have the benefit of his studies and experience in one book. I do have to disagree with those who say it is an easy read, however. With all due respect to Father, I found the syntax occasionally to be awkward and difficult to follow and many of the passages have grammatical errors. This shouldn't dissuade anyone from reading the book, just be aware that it will take time and effort and you may need to re-read several passages and overlook confusing phraseologies to get the intended meaning. (I wondered several times whether or not the book had had an editor). That said, Dominion is a treasury of information that you won't find elsewhere in one volume. It is well worth the effort!

The Ultimate Catholic guide to spiritual warfare
I'm a huge fan of Fr. Chad's. The hardback is a solid, like good textbook quality solid book. The information is organized well. I'm totally cool saying to this belongs in your "defense against the dark" library. Oro Pro Nobis. God bless you all.

Phenomenal read for all denominations. It is chock full of knowledge from well documented sources. Fully articulates the depth and scope of the spiritual battles taking place in our minds and the world around us constantly. Recommend for anyone truly trying to understand how spiritual combat works and how to defend yourself.

Outstanding Composition
Hands down, out of all of my books/resources regarding the Angelic Order, this work by Father Chad is the most in-depth study on the subject. Subsequently I highly recommend this book if you want to study said subject. Father Chad I follow fervently and when he speaks on God….I listen. The book is my most valuable resource insofar as this topic is concerned. I also recommend his book “ Introduction to the Science of Mental Health: Quodlibetal Issues and Practica” as a beneficial precursor study (though I haven’t finished it completely, I must admit).

Hard cover is bent and corners are smashed hard . This is due to delivery I know , but I got the hard cover for a reason ,

Good book but POOR Amazon Prime packaging
Very good book and full of useful information with Fr Ripperger's usual clarity. AMazon's packging however was disappointing with the spoilage for such a TREASURE of a book. Miss the excellent carton packaging and quality service that Book Depository had..
