Good product!
I just started using this in my smoothies. So far, so good. The taste is mild, the ingredients are pure, and I haven't noticed any negative side effects. I will continue using this product and update if anything changes.

Delivers a protein punch - potent detoxifier
This is the most potent source of spirulina I have ever tried. After I put a tsp. each of spirulina and Vit C, mixed with 2 tbsp of Lecithin in a cup of water and a little stevia to sweeten it, it becomes an energy drink. The taste takes a little getting used to, but it is not overpowering. This daily drink gives my immune system a power boost and keeps my cholesterol levels manageable. When I battled kidney cancer four years ago, I tried healing with alternative therapies, instead of conventional medicine. I used a tsp. of spirulina in freshly-made organic apple juice which was my drink every two hours in the morning during the 3-day juice cleansing fast. In the afternoon every two hours until 10:00 p.m., I drank freshly-squeezed organic lemon mixed with the juice of a handful of organic carrots, half a bunch of cilantro, a small raw potato and a few tablets of chlorella. This combo was very effective in removing heavy metals. In five weeks, the 6.5 cm tumor that was sitting above my kidney, shrank to 4 cm., the kidney was spared, chemo was unnecessary since only one cancer cell was found in the biopsy. The tumor was laparoscopically removed. I was discharged on the second day after rebounding quickly from 5 hours of surgery. Best of all, I didn't have to endure the grueling and painful kidney cancer treatments which were not always successful. My Shi Poo had many digestive issues which I didn't know about before adopting him from his third owner. He was only three months old at that time, yet he had no energy and looked sad and listless. I was determined to give this sweet little dog a new lease on life. After checking out the Ottawa Dog Whisperer's website, he was put on a raw food diet consisting of ground meat, kale, raw egg, pumpkin, sardine (packed in water), along with 1 tsp each of spirulina and kelp along with half a cup of bone broth from grass-fed cows. This mixture which is freshly made every three days, was topped off with plain organic keffir. Ever since then, he has been in good health. His eyes and coat are shining and he is one of the happiest little dogs in the neighborhood, always eager to romp with the neighbors' kids and other dogs. He has not had to go to the vet at anytime except for his annual check-ups. She found his legs strong and his teeth white. For a daily snack, he is give a small frozen turkey neck which gives him great joy. He licks his lips when he sees me taking the bone out of the freezer. On Jan 27, he will be nine years old. We will be celebrating how far we have come with our issues.

Fabulous, quality product--- great price for the volume!
I got this about 5 weeks ago... where do I start? Consuming the Spirulina When I first opened the container, the first smell that came to mind was high-quality cocoa! Yes, there are undertones of the algae too. This is a quality-processed product, with consistency in the powder and no grit or anything of the sort. It took me a bit of experimenting to determine how best to take this. I take a teaspoon or so first thing most mornings in cool, filtered water; if I add to a dry glass, add an inch or two of water, and allow to sit without stirring for about 10-15 minutes, the spirulina nearly completely dissolves with no lumps/clumping. After a quick stir with a spoon, I drink straight and I admit it took a couple of weeks to get used to the taste--- which isn't unpleasant, but very... 'raw and natural'. :-) Value for Money I was a bit concerned about the quantity for the price, but am finding that this product goes a long way; I'll be surprised if I run out before 3 months have passed. Compared to the cost of quality tablets/capsules, I think this product is an absolute bargain. Plus it is organic! Benefits (Perceived or Otherwise) Okay, without doing a controlled study, it's hard to attribute the benefits just to the spirulina. What I can say for sure: I recently had a sensitive, acidic stomach from some bad food/drink decisions two night prior. I took the spirulina in water and it knocked out the acidity instantly--- so safe to say the alkalinity does help! I think probably this would make part of a great hangover, over-indulgence, or general acid-reflux remedy. Otherwise, I have noticed on the days that I get this down the hatch, I am more spry and clear-headed. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product, and I won't buy tablets or capsules if this product is available. I intend to buy this again when I eventually run out.

Shrimp love this stuff!
I actually feed this spirulina powder to my Opae Ula (Halocaridina rubra) shrimp. It lasts forever because they only eat a tiny pinch at a time. They love it and come out of their rock crevices to hoover up as much as they can. The snail cleaning crew also eagerly gets in on the action. I can't speak to the taste myself as I don't use it in smoothies, but I do notice little clumps that don't dissolve much in the water, as some people have mentioned. The shrimp don't care. In fact they seem excited to find a big old clump that they can seize and carry away. Humans might be less excited about that. What made me choose Triquetra over other brands was the detailed micronutrients listing in the description. I was able to see that it doesn't contain copper (which kills shrimp dead). Unfortunately the chlorella powder does contain copper or I would offer that too. The little guys have been happily eating this for over a year now as a supplement to the algae that grows naturally in the aquarium. They all give it 10 legs up. The spirulina tends to settle on their cuttlebone, so I took a couple of pictures of a few shrimp and snails collecting it after I sprinkled some in.

Strong smell. But will keep trying for its benefit (Updated 7/5)
The taste, or rather its smell, is something you need to get used to and I am noT sure if I can get used to it. Will update later if that happens and for the effect. Update (7/5/2016): Just to clarify, I did not get any discount or freebies from the company. I bought this products on Amazon. It has been 3 months or so since I purchased this product. And while I should have gone through the whole bottle if I were to follow the recommended use (1 teaspoon / serving), I only used half the bottle, taking half-a-teaspoon a day mixed with protein powder to make a drink, either with water or almond/soy milk. Update (7/28/2016): I tried it with blender and it mixed very well. I must say it still smells horrible. I understand that there is benefit to taking this blue-green algae, it smells like "pond-scum." I did not feel much of "energy boost" as many reviewers mentioned here. I think it is like taking vitamins. You know taking them is good for your body, but you wouldn't know because you don't feel the effect. One year later after starting to take vitamins, you look back and you realized, something like, I have not caught a cold this year, or I got sick but I was over very quickly. I understand that there are potentially many benefits from taking Spirulina and they are, to name a few; lowering your blood sugar level, lowering LDL, boost in metabolism, and it contains many different vitamins and minerals. There are many studies done but nothing officially confirms that Spirulina is proven to be effective. I will keep taking this while I still have it. But if I decide to continue taking it, I will probably switch to tablets. Some issues with this powder form: 1) again smells very bad 2) It is not at all easy to dissolve. It takes quite a long time 3-5 min using spoons. I tried using shaker but that does not do anything. I did not use a blender but I don't see how it can help. For what its worth, at my latest physical check up, I did noticed that 1) my blood sugar level went down a little, though it may have to do with my increased level of exercise, 2) my cholesterol went up quite a bit, but I am sure it has to do with my eating (too many business trips lately), and 3) my finger nails seem to be growing a bit faster (not sure why, boost of metabolism from Supilrina?).
