Get at least one size above normal
Good quality andnl comfort. Just tested them in the Austrian Tirols, they were very comfortable and light. Regarding the size and your walking plans get at least one size larger than normal (depends on which socks you are planning to wear.

Bit tight
I bought 1 size bigger for a good fit, but it's a bit tight on the upper foot. Even when wet, it keeps the foot secure. I know it's meant for terrain only, but the only thing I didn't like about it is that it has zero grip on wet, hard surfaces like stones.

Fit well and durable,look good. Can't comment on waterproof as I haven't worn them in the rain.

Good but sole is not durable.
Typical Salomon: good construction, supportive, very grippy, well ventilated (lol at other reviews complaining about leaking - these are non-gortex version). But also typical Salomon in that the sole does not last. Couple of 100 miles & they are badly worn.
