Great board and excellent customer service!!
This is a great board. My son has a variety of surfboards, but this is by far his favorite. It’s also my favorite because it was easy on the wallet and the customer service is excellent!! One of the fin screws popped out and after a simple e-mail to customer service, they quickly sent me replacement screws and fins for just the price of shipping! For a fun, affordable, versatile board… I highly recommend a Thurso!

My Nephew is pumped on this board!
We recently purchased this board for my 10 year old nephews birthday. He has never surfed before and has always wanted to learn. 25 years ago I learned how to surf on a similar style soft top board, so I thought it only fitting for him to do the same. We took it out to 32nd street in Newport. He was timid at first but I got him to start attempting to stand up within the first half hour. He fell a bunch, but had a great time and was able to avoid any injury due to the nature of the board and it’s soft material. We took it out again the next morning and to my surprise he stood up and road his first wave/white wash! So awesome! Super stoked on this first board for him and would recommend for anyone smaller in nature learning to surf.

Stoked on 1' up to head high waves.
Really surprised how much fun this foam board is on little shorebreak waves. I am a bit over the max weight rating of 200lbs. I'm 6'2", 225lbs was worried I would sink this board, not the case. Even though it's 4" shorter than I am tall, Ive been out on small 1-2" mushy days, catching waves that are usually considered only longboardable. I've also ridden this board in hollow shorepound that I would never drop in on with a hard board. Riding shorepound all the way in, jumping off on dry sand. Now for the downside...the fins are flexible and rubbery great for beginners and not getting hurt. Bad for any high performance surfing, hard pumps, cutbacks, bottom turns with speed. The fin screws backed out on my first 4' wave lost 2 of them. After picking up some replacements, I glued them in place. They have been holding ever since. Just have to make riding style adjustments on head high waves, the flexible fins don't have the same drive as a conventional surfboard. The tail will slide out very easily when you load the fins. Not sure how long the board will last the way I am using/abusing it. I can definitely feel the board flex when I smack the lip with it. Great addition to the quiver; I would buy it again!

great learner board, and the foam saves your face
a soft top is the right call for anyone learning, and this one is well built for it. the foam deck means when the board inevitably comes back at you, and it will, you get a bruise instead of stitches. that matters even more when kids are in the water nearby. the 5'10 fish shape with the twin fins is quick and loose and catches small mushy waves easily, which is exactly what you want when you're figuring out timing and pop ups. it's stable enough to stand on but short enough to actually turn, so you don't outgrow it in a month the way you do a giant beginner longboard. the hdpe slick bottom is noticeably faster than the cheaper soft tops i've been on, it planes rather than dragging. the deck grip means no wax needed. the leash has double swivels so it doesn't get twisted up around your ankle. everything you need is in the box, fins and leash included. good board for the price.

Overall looked nice but I’m not sure how long it would hold up long term
I do think the price is a tad on the high end for what it was, though not terrible, but it seemed to be a decent quality & looked really nice. Unfortunately mine was missing the fins & had a scratch on the board, but was able to easily return it. Given it came scratched I’m not sure how well it would hold up to being used very much.
