It will stick to foil that is not coated with anything

Does the flux residue require cleaning? Or is it no clean?

It can be a little messy, but I don't typically clean it. For hobby projects I leave it there. For professional projects it would be good to clean it.

can this fix jewelry?

Better to find silver solder. This is for electronic stuff.

What is the difference between small and large?

small solder is about 1/16th of an inch in radius(width) and large solder is approx 1/8th inch in radius(width). Small is normally used for light solder jobs Ie: circuit boards,etc. Large is used for heavier jobs that require more solder. Hope it helped.
