Heat on your schedule for cold Minnesota Nights
We live in Minnesota, where winters can get extremely cold, ranging from -20°F to +30°F. With our previous heated mattress pad, I would turn it on when the kids went to bed to ensure the bed was warm by the time my wife and I turned in for the night. Those days are over! The standout feature of this mattress pad is its ability to connect to a WiFi-enabled app. While the app isn’t winning any design awards, it works well and gets the job done. One of the most convenient features is the scheduling option, which lets you set a specific time for each side of the pad to turn on automatically. No more worrying about forgetting—such a relief! The app also allows for manual controls, letting you turn the pad on or off, adjust the heat level, or set pre-heat options. It’s easy to customize the experience to your liking. There are a couple of minor drawbacks, but nothing deal-breaking. Compared to my previous mattress pad, this one gets much hotter, so it would be nice if the “low” setting were slightly less intense. Additionally, the pad comes with a single control unit instead of individual ones for each side. This means the controller needs to be positioned at the center of the bed, which works fine for a king-size mattress but can feel a bit inconvenient. It also encourages you to leave the control unit on top of the mattress rather than neatly on the floor beside the bed. Overall, this is a fantastic product. It’s smart, efficient, and heats exceptionally well—maybe a little too well! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to others.

Exceeds expectations; defines next-gen bed heating. Superior app.
I’ve used heated mattress pads for decades because they’re super-effective, highly efficient, & convenient. They’ve looked like crap til now, & have all been at least 50% ungainly wiring harnesses & controls by weight. Awkward & dumb. Sunbeam set a new standard here, with a single, compact, extremely well-designed controller. It has 1 wall plug, & 1 cable which plugs into the bottom of the mattress pad. That’s for a queen or king, with split zones. You & your partner each want to control your respective side? Download the surprisingly well-designed & well-executed app & use your phone. Setup is easy, control is simple (even scheduling regular run-times), & it hasn’t crashed or lost its Bluetooth connection since I installed a month ago. In fact, 2 weeks in I bought a 2nd Sunbeam & scrapped an inferior product purchased earlier this year. I was amazed at how easy it was to add to the app as a new device, renaming both so we’d know which bedroom we were turning on. Wish list? Sure: a) it would benefit from more heat transfer wire in the “foot pockets,” & b) I’d be happier if they’d up the amps to deliver about 20% more heat on the “high/preheat” setting. That said, no regrets & a strong “buy” recommendation.

A Winter Must Have. Quick Heat and WiFi Connectivity
I really like this Sunbeam Mattress Heating Pad, especially at the price point. I upgraded from an older Sunbeam pad to the Sunbeam Connected Restful Quilted. This heating pad heats up much quicker and warmer than my old one. I like to pre-heat the bed and there is a feature for that, but I have not tried that feature yet. Level 5 for 5-10 minutes is plenty so far. The WiFi connectivity is convenient and was the main reason for my purchase of this model. However, connecting the WiFi took some patience and many retries (Unplugging the controller from the wall outlet). You will want the Sunbeam Bedding S2 app, there are two different Apps, at least on iPhone. Choose Bluetooth during initial setup instead of AP Mode. AP Mode didn't function. Once the App is configured it is easy to connect with Alexa. I use Alexa to turn it on before bed and to set an off timer. I took a "star" off for a couple of odd things, not deal killers at all. The connector is at the foot and on top, I can feel it with my feet. If you turn off the blanket with the App you have to wait a period of time before you can turn it back on with the App. Most of the time this is not a problem, but was an initial concern while testing during App configuration. Also of note there is only a single controller for both sides, which works perfect for me.

Sooooooooooo nice 👍
After doing bedtime for our children, my wife and I would joke about how terrible it was to get under our cold sheets and have that shock disrupt our ability to quickly get back to sleep. With this Bluetooth/programmable electric mattress pad, we schedule it to automatically turn onto Low at 8:30 pm and, like magic, warm bed awaits. I tend to run a bit warm at night, so I like that it lets me schedule to turn off after 1 hour while my wife keeps her side running until 6 am. Have had for maybe 3 months and would definitely buy again (and again and again).

Cozy Heated Mattress Pad
I love my heated mattress pad. I only use one side, but it keeps my space cozy all night long. I only use it on level 2 or 3.

Only as smart as its constant Error message
I've had several heated mattress pads before. The first two were Beauty Rest, I think, and were wonderful - the first lasted 5 years, and the second was donated after 3 years of use. The last one was a Bittenford (sp. ?) - purchased when I switched from a queen to a king bed. That one only heated one side of the mattress and was a disappointment. I had high hopes for this Sunbeam, especially after the 1/2-heated bed. I was excited about the "smart" feature - first because I often forgot to turn the heat on before I crawled into bed, and second because I wanted to be able to decrease the heat while sleeping. Aside from the pad having a nice, soft top and the wires not being prominent (I always put a waterproof mattress pad on top), I've been less than impressed with this purchase. 1) Set up: I follow directions when they are understandable. These weren't too bad. However, the instructions direct to put the mattress pad on the bed before connecting it to wifi. This is probably fine if your wifi signal is strong throughout the house, but it's inconvenient if your bedroom happens to be in an area with limited range. It's even less convenient if you not only put the mattress pad on, but made up your entire bed. :/ It's not an entire pain to set up unless you have 5G wireless in your home (which so many of us do). I have 2.4 and 5G networks available, but have only used the 5G...which meant that I needed to set up the 2.4, which led to several other devices needing to be reset/reconfigured. 2) Error message: Because I had made up my bed after first putting the mattress pad on my bed, I opted to wait until the next sheet change to strip it and try again. I manually turned the mattress pad on every night but crawled into a cold bed 3 out of 6 of the nights. Every "cold sheets" night, the controller read "E" and I had no idea why. The power problem was solved by unplugging/re-plugging it, but I still went to bed in a cold bed. I hoped connecting the pad to wifi would help, and it has. I've only received "E" messages 3 times since I set it up (3 weeks), which IS an improvement...but still unacceptable. It's also quite annoying that the mattress pad needs to either be reconnected to wifi (which, again, is a pain if you need to move the mattress pad closer to the modem/router) OR re-scheduled every time it's unplugged - even for a second. If you accidentally knock the plug while re-making your bed, or are trying to find the perfect placement for the ONE control, or have to reset the pad because you receive another inexplicable Error message - your settings will be erased. 3) App control vs. physical control: You can set the physical control to "pre-heat" and it will automatically switch to whatever the last heat setting was after the pre-heat cycle. On the app, though, you're able to set it to pre-heat, but it doesn't revert to the last heat setting once the pre-heat cycle is done; it powers off. Also, if you set the mattress to anything above a "4" using the app, you need to adjust the physical control within an hour (a safety feature, I know) or it powers down to a "4". *Also, Sunbeam asks for user location, content, usage data, contact info, and identifiers (in addition to diagnostics, which is the only thing they should need). 4 )Heat Performance: It has 10 heat settings. I like to set it to High before bed, but it doesn't always feel like "high" when I crawl in. It's also not very warm at the feet, which seems like a zone that should be prioritized. 5) I believe Sunbeam deletes app reviews. When I first got the mattress and tried to set it up, I was frustrated and left a review to reflect that frustration. When I finally got it set up, I returned to update the review, but it was gone...As were several other reviews that I had read prior to leaving my own. I just checked again to make sure I wasn't mistaken, but I'm correct. My review is still missing. Bad business practices and subpar product.... I'll be looking for my BeautyRest again and find a smart plug or something. I'd recommend you do the same.

I’m absolutely letting the robots take over my life.
I love this mattress pad. I got it on prime day, so it definitely felt like a great value. Granted I bought it in the middle of summer, so I won’t need it for quite a while, but I cranked up the AC tried it out anyway! It may seem over the top to have an Alexa/smart home connected mattress pad, but I absolutely love home automation and smart devices and like I said, I got it on prime day so it was a deal. So far, none of it has rebelled against me or tried to hold me captive like the Disney movie, Smart House. I live in a 3 story townhouse, and try to do my best to run the AC and heat as little as possible to save money. So, having a heated mattress pad seems like a no brainer for the winter. I also try my best to define my bedroom as a place for sleep and related activities to help with my insomnia, so I typically don’t spend a ton of time in my bedroom outside of when it’s time to get ready for bed. Having a mattress pad that I can turn on while I’m still downstairs feels like it will be very convenient and will eliminate those few moments of cold sheets when I first get into bed. I also really like that the smart functionality means that there aren’t a bunch of cords attached to the dual thermostats that have to sit on the nightstand and regularly get yanked off and eaten by the robot vacuum when it vacuums under the bed and inevitably gets stuck where I can’t quite reach. There are 3 ways to control the mattress pad: Alexa/smart home, the physical remote, and the app. I found that the mattress pad was easy to set up and link to Alexa. It took a moment because I kept calling it the wrong thing, but eventually I figured it out lol. It was purely human error because I kept calling it “heated blanket”. The remote is good, simple and straightforward and allows you to control both sides. The app is also simple and straightforward once you get set up, but is probably my favorite feature. You can set up a schedule for the blanket to turn on and off, which is great because I am notorious for forgetting to turn mine off. It also has safety features that require you to acknowledge setting it to a higher level temperature, otherwise it will set the mattress pad to level 4.

Good product with lots of potential but lacks in certain areas so far.
We previously had a Sunbeam heating pad with one remote controller but one side of the pad stopped working. This was our replacement. We liked the idea that we could preheat the bed with scheduling and the additional idea that we could use voice control (our house is full of smart gadgets) to turn it on or off without fumbling for controls in the middle of the night. I set it up and quickly encountered several issues, some of which I believe Sunbeam can rectify by improving their apps. The Pros: heats very well even on a low setting. Has some timeout and additional protections in place. It feels completely comfortable. Once the app is set up, scheduling and preheating the bed from a different location is handy. The Cons: 1. App setup and syncing wasn’t the easiest but once I had it set up, all was fine. However, I tried logging into the same account on a different device and the mattress pad didn’t even show up. I’d also note that I have a newer Mesh network and was concerned about the 2.4 GHZ channel not being seen but this wasn’t an issue. 2. The scheduling didn’t work. Perhaps I need to just leave the app running all of the time? This clear in the instructions at all. Or perhaps it simply doesn’t work or works intermittently. I’m going to try again today. 3. Voice control (via Amazon Echo/Alexa) is terrible. It’s something they can fix from a programming standpoint. I can manage to get it to almost consistently preheat by saying “Alexa, Preheat my Mattress Pad” and it will turn on both sides, but if I try to set it to a specific number such as, “Alexa, turn my mattress pad to 4”, it completely fails and often says “which setting?” Other times I’ve seen it launch some random song (not kidding.) 4. With voice control, there aren’t any options for separately controlling “Side A” or “Side B.” Both sides come on at the same time at the same setting (again, only one I can get to work is the preheating.) It’s something they can address from a programming standpoint as it’s available in their app but Sunbeam doesn’t appear to be very responsive to its customers. 5. Controller numbers and wifi icon are BRIGHT ORANGE. To the point where you have to turn it upside down as it lights up the room. There’s also no way to dim the readings short of some dimming tape. 6. So while the controller numbers are BRIGHT, there are no lights for the other buttons on the controller. I suppose we will get used to where everything is, but some people are going to have issues finding the buttons they want. 7. Power cord from the controller to the receptacle is VERY short unlike our previous model. Our outlets are behind night stands and not directly behind our King bed. The cord as a result is stretched in the air barely reaching the outlet. It forces the controller to be off center between the two sides. All the company really needed to do was to add another foot to their power cord. 8. Very poor customer support. Actually perhaps one of the worst I’ve ever encountered. I’ve tried calling them in the past and like others have stated over the years, it’s almost non-existent. So I don’t have any high hopes that it’s something they can address over the phone. All we can do is hope that they are reading these reviews and trying to make some effort to improve or fix their product. Some of these things I can live with, but the other items could be addressed. I plan on updating this review in the future assuming I can at least get the scheduling portion working for us..

Brilliant idea!
A wifi electric blanket might seem like overkill, but nothing beats coming home after a late night to a warm bed!

Must have for cold winters!
Must have for Canadian winters! This is my second one and we love it. I do not have any complaints with it. I preheat my bed remotely when I leave work, so when I am home the bed is nice and toasty. Which is lovely especially after a cold night shift. There is safety features so you have to physically press a button on the controller before 1hour is up so it doesn't stay on preheat or high all the time unattended. Bonus it can be paired with Amazon Alexa so you can control it with your voice. We have it setup so we can tell Alexa to preheat the bed.

Heats up very fast.
It works so well. The WIFI connection is thought was a bit of a gimmick. It works amazing and the safety feature does well. Thanks Sunbeam.
