Standard Horizon Battery Tray f/HX750

I prefer these over the rechargeable factory version. I bought a dead VHF off ebay and installed this with AA batteries and it works great. It is easy to carry extra AAs and their are avaliable on long trips. No charger required.

The original battery is no longer available and this tray saved the radio from a junk pile. Fantastic.

The original Lithium ION battery is no longer available and this is the only type of replacement you'll find. Works great with a little less power on transmit, but fits the bill. I'm happy with it. Please note that a plotter will NOT work with the HX851 receiver if you go this route.

I purchased this so I would have an alternate power source for my marine handheld. I was a bit surprised that it uses AAA batteries but after reviewing the ad I realized that I missed that. The tray works and indeed will provide backup power for my radio when on the water without the expense of another lithium ion pack.

This tray fits and the batteries work. I only gave it 4 stars because I think it should be included when you purchase the radio. While I haven't had to use it yet-this should make a good backup for the rechargeable battery-especially when going on multi-day kayaking trips.
