Dell S Series Screen LED-Lit Monitor 27" Black (S2718H)

Best monitor in the $200 price range. If you are looking at this monitor you are probably on the fence like myself whether an additional $200 justifies the price of a 4k monitor. In this case I don't think so.. The monitor's color is excellent much better than my older Dell monitor. This S series monitor does have HDR which makes the color stand out. Actually better than some 4k monitors that do not have HDR. When you are a about a foot from the monitor you can see pix-elation, and most other 4k monitors are much better. However most 4k monitors are a about $200 more in price. If you can afford it buy the Dell 4k with HDR with the almost borderless screen which is the "U" series U2718Q. I'm content with sit about 3 feet from the screen so the pixelation is not that bad. The first time I hooked up my monitor certain apps looked fuzzy even though it was set to the recommended settings. After playing around a bit with the settings and "clear type" it got better but was still a bit off. After a couple of reboots everything became very sharp and clear. So don't give up right away this monitor has the capability ot be an excellent monitor. Also I'm not a fan of matte because i wanted all the detail and sharpness. The screen finish is something in between a glossy and matte finish.When I unboxed it looked like a semi matte finish but the content on the screen is very sharp and clear. When turned it off you can tell it has some anti reflective qualities. It seems Dell has mastered the perfect screen anti-reflective and sharp clear viewing even in a sunny room. Finally the sound is excellent, better than my Bose Bluetooth speaker at lower volumes, but does get a bit scratchy at higher volume. Overall this is a great and the best monitor I've seen at my computer stores, blows away any other monitor in this price range ( like AOC, Accer, Samsung all have their flaws, etc...)

I've been using this thing for almost a year and a half at the time of writing this review. It's held up really well and has been a really solid monitor. The speaker was unexpected and a fantastic addition. I was using a 4k monitor before I got this one, so I was initially a little miffed at how everything looked, but I've gotten used to using 1080p again and there's nothing lacking with it. You really won't go wrong with this monitor. For reference, I got mine when it was $179 USD.

The monitor is beautiful in design and having the speaker being optional is really nice as well. The sound passed my expectations and I love the sleekness of the monitor.

The video quality is excellent, however the sound quality is a disaster. The speaker is not functional. The sound cord does not fit into the provided connection and therefore does not work..

It's a big screen and a good addition next to my iMac. My only issue with it is that it doesn't sit at the same level as the iMac screen, and the resolution obviously doesn't hold up nearly as well. But it works great off to the side running word processing and other text-driven screens.

This is my 2nd exchange for a monitor that obviously has yellow tint problems. As the Dell line series has always has various color tint problems, this series faces it to an extreme case. I was going to wait for the 2017 Ultrasharp but CES 2017 hyped this line so much that I decided to try the S series for the first time. Everything is nice about the monitor except it has a HUGE yellow tint across the RGB spectrum in all modes. This is absolutely unacceptable for Dell's "flagship" S series model that was released literally last month. AND it costs more than the Ultrasharp premium series. I hope a Dell representative or someone from Amazon can clue me in as to why this series is like this, I really wanted to love this monitor, but the yellow tint is just killing all photos for me. All your whites will look like yellowish mush. Note that the other monitor is a cheap TN panel. Also to anyone who thinks I'm nitpicking, this photo is based off a regular smartphone camera, that's how obvious and deep the yellow tint looks.

I bought 14 of these for our lab... Really nice monitors... The built in speaker (which you don't have to install) works well for basic audio over HDMI. In my application each workstation has two monitors. Apparently you can only stream audio to one HDMI monitor at a time, so the second speaker is redundant... I think this is probably an HDMI restriction, not a monitor issue.

Its a great screen for the price we paid for it, graphics are a lot smoother than on a TV. We used it with the Xbox One S and on our new PC running Fortnite on both works great. Perfect monitor we use it for games some video, drawing, editing and everyday useage.
