Taking these capsules, which are easy to swallow, over a few weeks certainly seems to have had the usual beneficial effect of turmeric consumption. The active ingredient in black pepper, piperine, is known to boost absorption of turmeric in the body, by up to seven times according to some studies, and there is also a small amount of this present. Freshly ground black pepper is said to be most effective, so I try to consume these capsules with additional freshly ground pepper, sometimes just eating a few whole peppercorns at the same time. The average consumer has no way of testing capsules like these to verify that they are what they say they are, but there's no reason to believe that they're not.
