I'm sure you can look at the packaging of this saffron and assume the quality is excellent, and it is. Even if it looks a little over the top. I smelled it upon receiving it and it was strong, peppery, and deeply sweet and floral. I tested it out in a simple tea to check out the color and flavor, then proceeded to make some Persian saffron rice with tahdig, and it is potent and high quality.I would highly recommend this saffron. If you're on the fence about using saffron in your cooking, or trying saffron tea, I'd suggest ordering a gram of it and experiencing the real thing. One gram will last long enough to give you an idea of the improvement it makes in flavor.

To be honest, I'm not qualified to "rate" saffron. I use it in recipes that ask for saffron, and I really don't think I could identify saffron's taste. But this stuff arrived Beautifully packaged -- the box looked like something you'd get a decent piece of jewelry in -- and it's a pretty red color, and the strands are long and not at all crumbled. And the meals I've made with it have been good. So... as far as I'm concerned, great saffron!

Amazing quality saffron at a great price. I've been overpaying for mediocre saffron for too long. I never thought to look on amazon for a spice but I'm glad I did. It smells and tastes much better than anything you can find in store.
