Didn't set out to own six floor jacks. Life just kind of happens when you discover that half the "broken" jacks people throw away or sell for nothing just need fresh hydraulic fluid and a few pump cycles to come back from the dead. MAG 1 hydraulic jack oil is directly responsible for my floor jack situation and I have zero regrets. Picked this up to revive a floor jack that wouldn't hold pressure and had been sitting in the corner doing nothing useful. Drained the old contaminated fluid, refilled with MAG 1, cycled the pump a few times to bleed the air out, and watched a dead jack come back to life like nothing ever happened. Word got around and suddenly neighbors and coworkers started appearing with their own sad neglected jacks and the floor jack graveyard revival operation was officially open for business. The fluid viscosity is correct for hydraulic jack applications — not so thin it bleeds past seals that have any life left in them and not so thick it makes the pump feel like you're moving concrete. Flows cleanly during fill without trapping air bubbles that cause spongy inconsistent lift behavior. One quart goes a long way across multiple jack rebuilds. Floor jacks don't take a massive fluid volume and a single bottle has covered more resurrections than I care to admit at this point. Cost per revival is embarrassingly low compared to buying replacement jacks. For anyone with a floor jack that won't hold pressure or lifts weakly — drain it, refill it with MAG 1, and prepare to be surprised how often that's the entire fix. Also prepare to run out of garage space. Highly recommended with that caveat.

MAG 1 00925 Hydraulic Jack Lubricating Oil – 1 Quart It’s jack oil—and it works. Nothing fancy here, but it does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Easy-pour bottle, no mess, and it gets the job done. Price is in line with what you’d find at a box store, but having it delivered makes it even more convenient.

Local stores had NO quart size hydraulic jack fluid, only gallons available. I don't need that much. Also, although you can use other fluids to power your bottle jack, the wrong fluids can eat away the hydraulic seals in your jack due to the detergents used for car transmissions. This arrived next day & was reasonably priced.
