It works! I left it on for 20 minutes and it worked fast! (I did have dirty blonde hair though, so it didn't take a lot to lighten it.) I will note- this will dry out your hair. So buy a deep conditioning hair mask and good quality conditioner. :) I highly recommend it.

Tried and true! My hair color was mousey brown. When I applied this, it took it down to a level of blonde that was beautiful. I received many compliments on my hair color. People could not believe that I did it myself. With applying the product correctly, you avoid banding and other unsightly, telltale signs of a nonprofessional application. So as a lot of the other reviews started this it with, I picked this up instead of my regular bleach and it was recommended by a friend. I had my hair like 5 or 6 colors this year and am done with those for now and still had small patches of pink and whatever else from months ago, along with my beautiful roots in the before picture lol. So as you can see in the after, I do have some yellow going on and it doesn’t seamlessly blend into the rest of my blonde, which is to be expected of any bleach. I was checking the mirror all throughout my shower though and when it first rinsed out the top of my head was orange and I screamed; and then used the anti brass conditioner included and it turned from orange to yellow. So now I am going to touch up my roots again in a couple days and it will be perfect. I know my roots were pretty dark and I could’ve left it on for like 10 more minutes but I’m not mad about my result. I would rather have yellow roots than brown lol. I don’t know if I would choose this over my regular bleach next time I need it, but it was a nice product! I will add that my normal bleach basically burns your nose and it does itch and burn on your skin (something that sounds crazy but I just deal with it lol) and this product did not have overly smelly fumes at all, smelled like the regular garnier dye, and didn’t itch or burn or anything. I also did read about the bottles label wearing off during the dying and possibly getting green in your hair so I just used a bowl instead not the bottle. Overall wasn’t a bad product but not a miracle product either lmao and don’t use it if you have dark brown regrowth only darker blonde and light brown

For everyone complaining that this turned their hair yellow, that's what it's supposed to do because it contains bleach. Even bleaching kits that are tinted purple to help counteract the brassiness (yellow color) can't completely do it without applying a toner afterwards. And even though this kit comes with purple conditioner, the concentration of the pigment is nowhere near enough to tone your hair. (I've included a photo showing the awful yellow color you're left with and then photos of what you get after using the toner.) Having said all that, this product works great on my dark ash blonde hair, and I find it easier to apply since it's in a squeeze bottle versus painting it onto my roots with a brush. The developer that comes in the box is 30 volume which is a little on the stronger side. I use Wella T18 Ash Blonde to tone out the brassiness and I also alternate between John Frieda's Violet Crush shampoo and Sheer Blonde shampoo to keep it looking cool and icy but still maintain softness. Keep in mind it probably will make your hair feel like straw at first, so I use a moisturizing shampoo and condition it after I rinse it out and then apply the toner to my combed out, damp hair. Then it gets rinsed out and shampooed/conditioned again. A lot of work, but worth it!

I have been using it for 3 years, and it always does the job, with my natural black hair, without damaging my scalp. Love it a lot!

Didn't care for this product. I'm a natural blonde that lightens my hair. This was so drying and yellow toned. Will stick with L'Oreal.

this is my favorite bleach, lightens to that level of blonde in a couple of rounds from dark brown, course, curly hair. been using it for ages and never took aggressive damage like i have with other brands and other levels of bleach so long as i spaced out rounds of bleach by at least a couple of weeks.
