Experience the epic world of Colin Meloy and Carson Ellis’s highly acclaimed New York Times bestselling series, in this paperback box set containing Wildwood , Under Wildwood , and Wildwood Imperium . With a stunning package and over eighty illustrations—including maps and full-color plates—in each book, this exquisite box set is the perfect gift for Wildwood fans and lovers of epic fantasy. Prue McKeel’s life is ordinary. At least until her brother is abducted by a murder of crows and taken to the Impassable Wilderness, a dense, tangled forest on the edge of Portland. No one’s ever gone in—or at least returned to tell of it. So begins an adventure that will take Prue and her friend Curtis deep into the Impassable Wilderness. There they uncover a secret world in the midst of violent upheaval—a world full of warring creatures, peaceable mystics, and powerful figures with the darkest intentions. And what begins as a rescue mission becomes something much greater as the two friends find themselves entwined in a struggle for the very freedom of this wilderness. A wilderness the locals call Wildwood. Review: Great Read - This was a very fun read. I’m usually reading three books at a time, different venues. This was my fun to read book and it didn’t disappoint. After reading I gifted it to the local library box on the corner so others could enjoy. Review: The Wildwood Chronicles - The Wildwood Chronicles is a 3 book set. It is so interesting that young adults & adults, as well will mot want to put the books down. It takes place in the deep forest called Forest Park located in Portland. OR. But it is worlds away. There is an alternate society which hides from the local Portlanders. The author of the book is Colin Meloy & his wife, Carson Ellis provides the illustrations. They also happen to be in the band called the Decemberists that started in Portland Oregon. A very creative couple.

Obsessed with this series!!
If you are considering reading this series, and you are also a fan of Narnia type fantasy, then this is the series for you! I can't put it down. I heard there will be a live action movie soon too!

Beautiful story
First of all, I want to address the claim that these books have "casual racism" in them. The character who treated the little Korean girl that way is a terrible man who runs an orphanage and treats all of the children horribly. This character is an example of what is wrong and awful in the world, and he respects no one and nothing other than money. He is one of the villains, and the book makes it very clear that he's completely hateful and awful. The story is in no way racist. It's a story of love and empowerment, telling young people that they have the strength to stand up for themselves and defeat evil. I adore this series and highly recommend it for adults and kids alike. It's easy reading for young readers, and well written enough for adults.

Gruesome violence but totally cool premise
An exciting premise to be sure—a little Chronicles of Narnia mixed with Harry Potter and The Magician. We sell them at our local Learning Express Toys. Story starts off truly promising and maintains that through the bulk of the first part. My only complaint is how bogged down the story gets bouncing in between the various sections of Wildwood and the Impassible Forest. Otherwise engaging. Excited to read books two and three to see how it pans out. One note of caution: gruesome violence and war. Probably not a good fit for young readers—I’d recommend 8th grade or higher (at the youngest!)

YESSSS
I adore these stories. I had heard great things, and the set is so beautiful, so I decided to purchase. I grew up loving mysteries and have wanted to give my homeschooled daughter the chance to fall in love with books and mysteries as well. Turns out, these books are a little advanced for her 9 year old vocabulary, however with me reading and her listening they turned out to be wonderful stories. I feel like a kid again. The beauty and magic and the small signs of grace and love sprinkled throughout the stories made me keep coming back. It’s been a while since I’ve read something for fun and this set was the perfect choice. Will definitely be recommending these books to all of our friends and family- young or old.

A lovely and Intriguingly Magical Escape
My 12 year old granddaughter and I have our own "book club". She enjoys magical realism in literature, and art-making, as I do. This book fulfills both of our passions. The story is intriguing and magical for folks 12-70+ years. The illustrations are delightfully creative adding greatly to the story. These are thick books, with beautiful paper pages cut with raw edges. The trilogy of this series is beautiful, inspiring and exciting. Age is no limit here. Enjoy!!

deckled edged pages not in the description
The books are made with a deckle edge to the pages, this is not clear in the description so when they turned up with very rough edges on all 3 books it looks like a defect.

O esperado
