How to I prepare these watercolors for use?

Unwrap each half pan, cut the magnet into thirds and adhere to the back of the pans to set them into the little tin. Add a wet brush and you are good to go!

This works just as other watercolor paints do... just add water. However, I did notice that my waste water had gold glitter in it after I rinsed my brush, so I would be careful going back into other colors with the gold on my brush (this is similar to how one uses guash with watercolor... it can contaminate other colors if not rinsed thoroughly). I did experiment with mixing the gold with a color and that was fun. Also try layering it to intensify the gold shimmer. Have fun and experiment! It's a glorious paint!

Can this be used on fabric?

This is a watercolor paint.... I did some experimentation with the paint on a fabric... and yes, it will show up on the fabric (I did the gold on black fabric I had laying around), however as you would expect, when you re-wet watercolor paint it will wash off immediately. It is NOT a fabric paint per se and is definitely not a permanent paint.
