I got this unit with spool gun to weld aluminum. 1st unit blew up when I plugged it in. Since I was invested in spool gun, I exchanged the unit for another one. Spool gun worked great and I made some good aluminum welds. Then I switched to mild steel , and the motor did not engage. So I could only weld stick and spool gun . The motor in these units are mediocre. I recommend to stay away, and buy a superior product.

Great welder
Great little welder, bought it because it is dual voltage, I have a 220 welder but sometimes i need to weld where 220 isn't available. Easy to set up and use. Completely adjustable voltage and wire speeds, good price and very light when moving around.

Not an expensive welder for a cheap price
This is not a Lincoln or a Miller like you have at work. However, for the price it can make a few tight spot welds seem easy. Some of the parts are delicate and its not made for 8 hour days as your daily tool; however the technology of the welder to automatically adjust works well. Definitely a superb purchase for a hobbyist or welder in a pinch and has served me well. I have not tried the spool weld, only the Mig and Stick.. as such my comments are only for those operations.
