Updated 2026: BEST hair color brand! (Most effective product on dark blonde hair so far)
I've tried multiple products trying to get my hair to a dusty mauve color without having to bleach my hair to almost white. Although it's not perfect - it's kind of blotchy, so far this is the only product that has left any color in my hair. I plan on trying again with a darker shade since my hair is darker than recommended.. My process: I will say do not follow the directions on the bottle.. the bottle says to wash it afterwards but that will wash the color out as well (I tried it on a test piece.) I did some research on this brand before trying it and combined a few technics I thought might work for mine. I started from a dark ash blonde with light ash brown roots (dyed right before applying Adore). I used a mix of 2:1 Adore 192 pink petal: Adore 193 soft lavender applied to towel dried hair using a dye brush applying in small sections for a more even coat. I covered with a plastic cap and left on for 1 hour (outside in the heat). I rinsed with cool water to lock in the color and applied a 2nd application of the same mixture combined with about 3Tbsp of conditioner. Lathered into my hair and covered it with 2 shower caps for extra heating effect. Left for another hour and rinsed again with cool water. I conditioned my hair again as normal and blow dried and straightened. I'm actually really surprised at the results (I half expected it to do nothing). There was still a lot of brassiness left in my hair from the previous products I tried that wouldn't tone out. Those are the main spots that didn't take the color but the darker roots took really well. The purple tones showed up better than the pink tones. I will definitely try again with more purple colors in darker shades. The only other thing I think I would change in my process is apply the first application to dry hair instead of damp hair to make sure it is evenly coated. Also leaving it on longer would probably help as well (the color was definitely more vibrant after the second application.) Update 2026: I just wanted to add since writing this review I've used many of the adore colors and absolutely love them. The darker colors work the best especially the purples. Also it's not nearly as complicated to use them as I did in my original post. After getting used to them I realized all you got to do is put the color directly into your hand (gloved) mix a little bit of conditioner and spread it through your damp hair while in the shower. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.. longer if you want and rinse it out.. do not wash it after. You can wash and condition your hair before but if you wash it after it will remove some of the color. The colors fade after each wash. Your second wash will give you about a pastel color if you started with the deeper colors. Lighter colors will probably wash out within the second wash. By the 3rd and 4th wash most of the colors will be completely gone. The green tones stay longer so if you're having trouble getting those out use a red tone and it will neutralize it. After the red washes out your hair should be back to the original color. I changed my hair color constantly with these. My favorite is doing a rainbowy mermaid look. I absolutely love the teal color but it's one of the ones that leaves the Green in there so I usually go with red or a deep pink for my next color to get the green out. These work best in dark blonde and lighter hair colors. I tried on my kid's hair which is a light brown to medium brown and only the deep pink showed up but it was gone after the first wash. I also love that it doesn't damage your hair so almost every time I wash my hair in the shower I'm putting a different color in. Since I changed it up so much and I only use it on the ends of my hair one bottle of color lasted me half a year to a year.. purple's lasted less because I used those more. But as cheap as they are it's worth it!

Love it, so easy and quick with amazing results
Giving it 5 stars as of right now. Iโve been coloring my hair for 30+ years and have never had a colorant so easy to apply. Wash hair, towel dry, applied to damp hair then covered in plastic (I didnโt heat set as directions mention) for 15 minutes and shampooed out. Color is VIVID (pink blush) I have short hair and used maybe 1/3 of the bottle. It even colored the gray. Also seen some mention it was runny, not an issue imo. Itโs like a gel. With that being said, the dye isnโt playing. I got a couple of smudges on my hand as I was taking off my gloves and no amount of scrubbing has gotten it off so use caution. Now weโll see how long it lasts. Even if itโs a week or two the price and ease of application are well worth it.

Good color
I really liked this color! The pink showed up nicely on my hair and gave it a fun, bright look. It was easy to apply and didnโt leave my wig feeling super dry afterward. Just keep in mind that the color can fade pretty quickly, especially with frequent washing. Overall, Iโd buy it again for the price.

Not semi-permanent to hard surfaces
Product is fine. I did not love the color. It's not nearly as vibrant as it could have been, even after multiple rounds on appropriately colored hair. If you choose not to lighten before using, or you do not have light-colored hair to begin with, it's going to be a struggle for you on blonde hair. It came out more of a lilac purple than a dark purple, which is totally fine, but just be aware of it. I do like that it was vegan and cruelty-free, but actually using it was an absolute mess, and it did end up still staining my cabinets and floor even after cleaning, immediately after hitting the surface.

Easy peasy with stand out color!
This stuff is great and so easy to use. I lightened my hair before applying, cause this was going to be Halloween hair. I love how it turned out!!! Iโve used it without dying on my dirty blonde hair too and itโs still really pretty, but too dark for my taste. This stuff delivers. Iโve tried many colors and have a whole drawer full of Adore to choose from. And you canโt beat the price. I have very long thick hair and didnโt need the whole bottle. Itโs great to mix in a bowl of water to do quick easy hombre ponytail dips too. The best part is that itโs so gentle. Absolutely no hair damage!

Great and affordable
As the daughter of a master cosmetologist I've been dying my hair since I was 14 (15+ years experience). I've tried them all, punky color, manic panic, artic fox, joico, splat and more. I've vetted every product through my licensed cosmetologist mother and never got any kick back due to harmful ingredients or other factors. That being said, this is my new favorite brand for fun semi permanent colors at a reasonable price. I've used it on myself and my daughter (see pictures for break down). I wanted to try several colors from this brand prior to reviewing so that it would reflect a bigger range as some colors will last longer or process differently. I wanted more of a neon green for my first color and the green apple was not dark/neon enough for me so I decided to mix a bit of emerald in to achieve the color I wanted since I did not see the exact color I wanted in the colors available. My base color was a BRASSY dark blonde and my daughters was a less brassy brighter blonde, so my original fear was the cooler color neutralizing the brass more than it showing through. The first dye (green apple) on my hair was not bad. The color was good. The first dye on my daughter's hair (emerald) did somewhat come out dull from the brassyness (did not take a picture) but after a few days, I did a second coat and it came out as pictured. Each time we dyed, I used a brush/bowl application method and let it process for 1+ hr (because I'm busy and forgetful). Here are my thoughts: Pros: didn't stain my skin an insane amount when I had accidental drippage, color lasts more than 2 weeks (4+ washes), mixes well if you want to adjust color, covers well and pretty even depending on your base and your application, affordable, large range of colors Cons: it takes a lot of washing to fade I love the range of colors to choose from and I love being able to mix them and not end up with something muddy. I also love that it is pretty long lasting compared to other popular semi permanent colors (look up dye vs dye on YouTube). The only caviot to that is if you like to change colors often, it may be harder depending on which direction you go on the color wheel or if you only want color for a short amount of time like vacation or leave from work, this may not work for you. It also did not stain my daughter's hair when we did the blue and make it a horrible shade of green that we were unable to cover. So all together, I really love this brand of dye and will continue to buy as need (a little goes a long way) but it may not suit everyone.

REALLY long lasting..
First of all, the color is gorgeous โexactly as pictured. I used this dye on my entire head of bleached hair, and it worked...extremely well! I didn't use a color safe shampoo or anything special to keep the color, so I figured it would fade pretty quickly as most semipermanent dyes do. I was wrong. This dye lasted me weeks with very little fading. I tried removing it with a color remover. That did nothing. I tried bleach, and even that only lightened it around 1-2 levels. So, I was left with a greenish blue stain, unable to be removed... Personally, I like changing my hair color really often, so I didn't care too much for this dye, BUT if you want blue hair for a long time, this might be for you.

Mocha covers pink, but I suggest diluting it/ Paprika is a true auburn shade on brown hair
Review for Mocha (3/5โ) This is a tough product to rate because it has pros and cons. I got the color mocha with the intention of covering my hot pink hair. A lot of reviews say the mocha turned their hair green, which I wanted to neutralize the pink. Pros: smells good, easy to use, easy to clean, not damaging, covered pink very well (to an auburn color). Cons: the only con, but it's a big one, is that it did turn the ends of some of my hair, mostly my face framing pieces a greenish dark brown. I ended up trimming as much of it off as I could, but don't be like me and please do a strand test. For the process, I put it on completely dry hair, shower cap, heated with blow dryer for a minute, left cap on for 30 min, rinsed out. I have above shoulder length hair, natural level 2 roots, ends were lightened to a 7/8. I doused my hair and used about 60% of the bottle. Update: It faded fairly fast after only one shampoo, but I made a color depositing conditioner and left it on dry hair for 40 min. If I had done this to begin with, I might have rated it higher. The pic with straight hair is after the color depositing conditioner. Review for Paprika (5/5โ) I'm unable to make a separate review, so I labeled the paprika pics. After the mocha faded, I permanently dyed my ends ash brown, which made it a murky color! I put paprika on shampooed and fully dry hair (curly shoulder length, natural level 2 roots and dyed level 6/7 ends). I fully saturated my hair from roots to ends (60% of bottle) and covered with plastic wrap for one hour, then rinsed with cold water. It turned out a beautiful true auburn color with a copper shade in the sun. It did not stick to my undyed roots, which I preferred. I will be making a color depositing conditioner with this shade too after shampooing. Paprika does bleed a lot, as most red shades do, so wear gloves. It came off my skin easily, and I bleached my sink, and no color stuck.

Stunning colour
This is my go to hair dye now I have really short hair and do part this colour aqua and part pink Turns out lovely When I try going back to my darker blue I used to always use I donโt like it as much This is a stunning colour but you need to get your hair as light blonde as possible for the colour to pop or it will have a yellow tone at the roots So use a violet toner shampoo before applying this Stunning colour aqua The brand is really good too Highly recommend I buy a few bottles every month Plus itโs a fantastic price compared to the higher end brands and just as good a dye
