I have always been a big fan of Italian design (grazie nonna) and particularly Alessi that now is completely part of the consumption society. I hesitated a long time before buying this holder because it is not really necessary to have a banana holder especially when you know that bananas are disappearing in certain part of the world due to the Panama disease caused by a mushroom (Fusarium oxysporum) which progression we do not know to stop. Yet, I decided it would be my only present for Xmas and I do not regret it. It is, as usual with Alessi, a beautiful object that contributes to make the world around you more pleasant. And there is nothing more important than having here and there a beautiful something to put your eyes on just to make you forget just for a few seconds the world necessary ugliness (ugliness is essential to appreciate beauty after all) :-) Alessi stainless steel is beautiful, but fragile so you need to really pay attention to the objects you have especially if you use them daily and you want to do so because design has to be functional and aesthetic.

A bit pricey but is well made!

Beautiful and sturdy. Holds large bunches of bananas. Looks good on the counter. I think it was a bit too expensive for a banana holder and it’s is not as eye catching as other Alessi items, but honestly it was the nicest holder I could find and I want the bananas to last longer in the house.

This banana holder is expensive but I am SO glad that I made the splurge. It's well made and has no problem with 9 bananas loaded on it. It is the first banana holder I have ever bought and am amazed at how much longer they last. In addition to being functional, its beautiful. No regrets spending the money at all!

Love Alessi and bought a bunch of 'Tu' mugs and heart-shaped ice creme spoons as Valentines gifts. But this banana holder was a disappointment. At 11.6" tall it was underwhelming. It needed some height. Also, typically Alessi items come packaged for gifting, but attached is how this arrived. I think they could have done better for a $99 piece of metal. Returned and ordered the Tutti Fruiti bowl from Alessi so fingers crossed.

I bought this to match a fruit bowl and the two compliment each other perfectly. It is a very stylish but minimal fuss banana tree and yes you can't help just giving the base a little buff every now and then as it shines so brilliantly!

Wunderschöner und funktioneller Bananenhalter der Firma Alessi! Zugegeben nicht ganz günstig, aber ein Teil fürs Leben! Wer gutes Design mit Funktionalität liebt und dazu noch die Firma Alessi mag, der kann hier nichts falsch machen 👍
