In Seven Days
I ordered my Nepenthes St. Gaya from Wellspring Gardens, and I couldn’t be happier! It arrived in perfect condition — packaged in a cute little cardboard box with a Wellspring Gardens opaque bag and detailed first-step instructions. The care guide even pointed me to their website for more info (which I totally appreciated). Right out of the box, I gave my little carnivorous buddy some rainwater (only the best — no tap water ever!) and set it in bright, indirect light for about a day and a half to let it settle. After that, I slowly acclimated it — 2 hours of direct morning sun, then back to indirect light. Growth started almost immediately. Within days, a new leaf split open and a baby pitcher began forming! 🌱 Now it lives happily in my east window, basking in that gentle morning sunshine. You can actually see the bronze-red color deepen as it soaks up the light — a sure sign it’s happy. Plus, it’s grown taller since day one; when it arrived, it sat below the little rubber band, and now it’s stretching proudly above it. Next step is transplanting it into a 6-inch self-watering pot, but I’ll be keeping a careful eye since this species likes moisture without sogginess (overwatering = doom). Overall, I’m blown away by the quality and health of this plant. Wellspring Gardens clearly takes pride in their work and it shows. If you’re thinking about getting a St. Gaya, do it! Just remember: rainwater or distilled water only, gentle acclimation, and a little patience. You’ll be rewarded with stunning growth and those iconic, alien-looking pitchers that make you feel like you’re raising a mini Jurassic Park specimen. 🦖💚 (Attached photos show how much my St. Gaya has grown — you can literally see the difference!)

Gaya arrived in great condition
I am thrilled with my plant. It is beautiful, healthy, and the only pest I found was a hatchling snail the size of a grain of sand. I am very lucky mine came with a little basal shoot! I did not see a way to add a heat pack to my order since it's November, but all the information says "Florida grown" so I predicted safe temperatures. When it shipped from Texas which is a drastically different route, I thought it was a goner! But luckily it only got some stress coloring and is perfectly unharmed. :) Thumbs up. Something I found a little annoying was the roots were bound in a small amount of normal peat soil wrapped in a piece of thin fabric, similar to dryer sheets. That bundle was tucked into long sphagnum moss. I tried to get a closeup in one of my photos so others can see. The roots had grown through the fabric stuff and into the moss, which made removal of that bundle super difficult. I ripped off over half of the roots just trying to get the bundle off which probably hurt me way more than it did the little nepenthes. Looking forward to watching it grow!

Love Love this plant
So very happy plant came packaged securely and healthy it took like a week or so and then it just started growing like a weed. It is actually doing better than any other plants that I have purchased so much so I have to move it because it’s growing so much and popping out pitchers every couple of days

Was messy upon unboxing
I was expecting the bags holding the plant to somewhat closed. The box was messy with moss everywhere even on the instructions. I could hear loose bits shifting as I picked up thr box. The packaging could have been better. I was expecting the bags holding the plant to stay somewhat closed but it was open and no packaging material to fill the space to keep it from moving. The box was messy with moss everywhere even on the instructions. I could hear loose bits shifting as I picked up thr box. The packaging could have been better. I just received this pitcher plant so its too early to review the plant itself. However it does have 1 nice pitcher already grown. I got the nepanthes miranda pitch plant. The pitcher looks slightly different than the pcture. It doesn't have a thick vibrant mouth of the pitcher or colors on it like I wanted and envisioned. Instead its, pure greenish pitcher with thin redish colored mouth. Maybe future pitchers will grown like I imagined based on this items pictures of how they advertised its supposed to look. Fingers crossed. I never owned a pitcher plant but I'm expecting it grow fast like the item advertises. The pot itself i just okay. It falls over easily because its narrow and tall. Considering placing in different pot later because winds will knock it down. I do wish it specified the type of water. Another pitched plant (sarracenia) I just order from another shop, specified distilled or reverse osmosis specifically. I suppose either of those would be good for this plant too. The watering instructions were just a QR code to watering but nothing actually showing you or telling you in the papers in the box. In my opinion it could have been disclosed briefly. I guess I will see how it goes from here.

Not bad, but blooms much smaller than images suggest
Most of the blooms were dead when it arrived. Otherwise seems like a healthy plant.

Very pleased (at first)
(First order) I am honestly shocked at how healthy this plant is. I thought it was fake at first! Packaging isn’t the greatest for hot or cold weather, but it still survived two very cold nights to Ohio. Everything was packaged well to keep soil and plant in place during transport which is appreciated! Took a chance ordering on Amazon, will visit again for my next purchase. Heads up that this isn’t really potted. Mine came in a pot but the plant is in a mesh plug wrapped in moss with perlite and soil at the bottom. Not ideal to keep this in, but fine to acclimate for the first 30 days. (Second order) I ordered another plant, the miranda, and I am not pleased with this. Not sure why I can’t make a separate review, so I am editing a previous review and dropping the rating. I had a great first experience, but it is clear this store really doesn’t care much. You can tell the plant has been sitting in a box way before I placed my order. I assume that is how they ship so fast is by keeping them in boxes ready to ship. There was black mold and a strong mildew odor that I still cannot get out, even after a repot. The first order was heavily sprayed with neem, but this one wasn’t, which is weird. Do better with your packaging. I’ve seen worse, but c’mon.. The rubber bands are pointless if they crush the pot they come in. Can’t blame Amazon for poor package handling when you don’t even pack the plant properly in the first place. Your prices are insane too not that I have found other stores online.
