Fire Maple Polaris Cooking System Portable Camping Backpacking Stove

Really impressed with this cooking system. It heats water fast and works reliably, even in a bit of wind. The build quality feels solid and the pot locks onto the burner nicely, so nothing wobbles. One thing I really like is that it can fit a 230g gas can inside the pot, which makes packing everything together much easier. The whole setup nests neatly and is ideal for camping or day trips. Overall, a great stove that’s quick, efficient, and very convenient to carry.

Amazing but of kit. You know when you go camping, you lose items that don't make the grade and try something else. This will be staying with me for a while. Its just excellent for coffee in the morning, takes about as long to boil water as my kettle at home, great for soups and stews. I pack this on my motorcycle for tours. Its small, compact and very useful.

I actually purchased the X2 to begin with and have just returned it. The quality and finish were excellent, but I think mine had a fault, where others users are getting 3 or 4 min boil times mine was 6 min 46s indoors and much longer outdoors in the cold Scottish winds. Anyway, I sent it back and just when I was going to order another one, I saw this and for a bit more cash (£76 with Amazon voucher) I decided to give it a try. I already have the 2x Polaris stoves which i bought as they are similar in design to the Soto stove i have but much more cost effective.(remote canister and canister ) and they are trully brilliant stoves, sorry Msr and Primus but in use these are better products than you currently offer ! FACT. Anyway, this arrived today. Its marginally bigger than the x2 maybe 5 mm in diameter and a few mm taller. The bag, which on the fms x2 was too tight is now nice and loose and the lid clip is a snug fit and holds all the main components together well. The fit and finish are excellent and the handle seems to be made of a higher quality plastic than before. My only gripe is the new pot stand which is now simpler and rattles about a bit ( probably to keep weight down), but I found that if you put it upside down at the bottom of the pan and the put all the other components of the stove in the order they are supposed to go, then it's stops the rattle completely...! Take note I filled the pot with cold tap water to just over the 1 liter Mark and started the stove and timer on ignition. It took 4.13 seconds to a roaring boil with the same gas can I used on the x2 with less water and it took almost 7 mins. This gas can is one filled with 70/30 butane propane mix. It was also probably 2/3 full, so with a full can of isobutane propane I'd expect this time to drop even more. At 3.33 seconds quicker than my x2 which was the 2022 2.2kw version and this only being 1.8kw. I'm extremely happy. This is a very fast boiling stove full stop and should be more efficient on gas than the x2. Its more suited for use with 2 people and for making ready meals, but this is what's it's intended for. It's easily every bit as good, if not better than the current Jet Boil stoves of which I've had a few. Some people don't like the handle, I simply cannot understand this as its one of the best features and locks securely in place. I hate those flimsy handles on the jetboilds and Msr windburner. I'd say this could well be my favourite all in one jet stove yet. The polaris inverted burners offer excellent wind performance and with the built in windshield and heat exchanger this has to be a winner.....

I initially had a minor issue with the piezoelectric igniter on my Firemaple Polaris, but Firemaple’s customer service was excellent, they promptly sent me a full replacement unit without hassle. Once in use, the stove performed impressively. The integrated wind shield proved highly effective; during one trip to a disappointingly windy beach, I cooked burgers and sausages on a Quechua frying pan for 30 minutes and managed two full 1L boils for coffe. Doing this used under 30g of isobutane from a 220g canister. Storage is another big plus. The entire setup; burner, canister stand, pot stand and 220g gas canister all fits neatly inside the pot. Which when packed away also fits inside the included mesh bag. The pot’s insulation is also solid. Boiled water stayed hot enough for tea and coffee well after heating, which is great when you're wanting a second drink shortly after. Compared to a Jetboil, the Polaris offers much of the same performance at a significantly lower cost, making it a solid pick if you are price conscious. I've been using it regularly for motorcycle trips, and it’s compact, reliable, and easy to deploy during a long ride. Highly recommended.

Great stove. Boils water really fast, and seems to use very little gas. Large canisters fit inside the pan, so everything packs away into one small(ish) pack. The cover is a nice touch, as is the folding handle that holds everything together when folded up but locks into place when unfolded. It lights really easily and the flame is very easy to control too. Compared to others, it seems to offer exceptional value for money. Really pleased with my purchase!

Wow, what a handy piece of kit. Quality is more than adequate. Price it more than fair The variable flame is worth the extra few ££’s. Everything fits very neatly into the pot. Handle feels secure and steady. Don’t may not be the fastest at boiling but it’s quick enough and for the price you can’t argue.

Had to send it back unfortunately, there were one or two bits missing but the burner is brilliant, prob just a packing error. These things happen, get one!

Watched probably over 12 hours of reviews of different stoves before purchasing that one. I needed capability of boiling around 1L of water each time as well as option to cook on it with gas regulated valve. So far this fire maple Polaris exceeded my expectations. Used it so far on 420g gas canister over 4 days wild camping in outer Hebrides to basically feed 2 people. Hot drinks nonstop, some scrambled eggs, beans , pastas and other stuff - it has been excellent despite we had very windy weather. I would recommend using main pot for liquids only and get separate set of foldable pans for cooking as the heat exchanger becomes super hot in no time. It’s water boiling capability is next level being also very efficient (despite the wind). Used extra pots for meals which it also handled very well despite less wind protection comparing to main 1L cup. It can take up to 1.4L of water as the 1L mark is in around 3/4 of its height. The only improvement I could with for is more detailed scale engraved on the inside as currently it shows a pint and 1L. It’s not enough to lower the stars from 5 to 4. I still think is excellent but perhaps next model could have this improved. Pot extension for stove is provided as well as gas canister stand (2 sizes within single foldable leg) . You will get the cup, stand , lid, stove + pot/pan plate and mesh bag to pack it into. Very well sized and lightweight. Recommending this for car camping or backpacking.

Ich hatte den Kocher nun auf einem Festival im Einsatz und bin begeistert. Die Verarbeitung ist gut. Die Leistung des Brenners ist auch vollkommen zufriedenstellend. Probleme mit dem Piezozünder hatte ich bis jetzt keine.

Dopo un anno di utilizzo posso farci une recensione, il prodotto è ottimo, le tempistiche dichiarate però non tengono in considerazione temperatura esterna fredda e liquido freddo vi avviso, ma nel complesso fa decisamente il suo. Risparmio un sacco di gas, la pellicola che avvolge la padella permette di maneggiarlo anche da incandescente e dopo l'uso di raffredda velocemente. L'accensione elettrica con la usa in quanto la prima accensione risulta un pelo difficoltosa finché freddo, serve un accendino anti vento e la valvola aperta al massimo, dopo qualche secondo abbassate la fiamma e inserite la pentola, deve solo scaldarsi un po' e poi rende. Unica pecca se proprio proprio vogliamo essere pignoli è che manca il supporto per una caffetteria, personalmente prenderei l'anello in dotazione per le pentole e ci aggiungerei un semplice perno a scatto giusto per reggere la caffettiera. Prodotto ottimo per il costo, lo consiglio da neofita di bivacchi a 1500-2000, metri.

I took this Fire Maple stove system with me on a solo motorcycle trip with a tent, and I’m extremely happy with it. Everything feels well made, the parts fit together properly, and the boiling speed is excellent. It boils water very quickly, which is exactly what you need when camping. I used it for making coffee, preparing freeze-dried meals, and heating water in general — everything worked perfectly. It is compact, practical, and very convenient for travel. For my needs, it did exactly what I expected and did it very well. Another big advantage is the price. It costs about half as much as similar American alternatives, but the quality and performance are still very impressive. Honestly, great job by Fire Maple. I’m very satisfied.

Mi sono trovato molto bene anche cucinando preparazioni delicate, come il risotto o la polenta. L’alto spessore dell’alluminio e il dissipatore di calore sul fondo fanno sì che il calore si propaghi evitando di creare punti caldi in cui brucia il cibo, cosa che succede sempre con i pentolini in titanio. Anche con il vento si comporta benissimo e la regolazione della fiamma è abbastanza buona. Maniglia comodissima. Tra tutto sono molto soddisfatto e nonostante il peso elevato, secondo me è un’ottima scelta.
