Easy to install, I noticed the difference right away in use. Much more responsive to changes in direction. No apparent increase in drag.

Great product! The process was right, and it doesn't what it's supposed to. Took about 10 min to fully install, and was pretty straight forward. Tried it on the water the same day, and the results were clear, especially on my 1436 jonboat. Usually it turns in very weird way due to the flat bottom. This rudder fixes that and also keeps me from having to tackle back and forth while trolling. I'm using this on a MinnKota...the one from Walmart that we all own.

Likes- Stepless feature is great a provided a smooth transition in speeds. All trolling motors should be made this way. Very light weight. Short shaft works very good on transom mounted Jonny Boat Bass 100. Dislikes- the distance between forward and reverse is too close and sometimes hard to get in the stopped position. The mount appears to be a little light for a 90lb thrust motor. The mount is smaller than on my 30lb Minn Kota, but has not caused any problems yet. The motor is a little noisier than my Minn Kotas or Newports, but that has helped me know when the motor is not in the stopped position. No significant speed difference over my 62lb thrust Newport and this 90lb, and no noticed increase between the 7 and 9 settings on the motor. However overall it has performed well and would buy again if it continues to perform well and has longevity. Update: I used this trolling motor less than 10 times during the 2024 season. When I went to use it in 2025 it would try to rotate a few time and then stopped. Followed all the trouble shooting recommendations in the manuel such as checking battery current, making sure there was nothing such as fishing line wrapped around the shaft, and assisting the motor by turning the propeller with my hand. None of these helped. I called the number in the manual for assistance and got an answering machine. I left a message describing my problem and requested a call back which I never received. I have decided that I will not take a chance on another Chinese made trolling motor because they are junk in my opinion. I put my Newport 62lb thrust that is 2 years old and it worked flawlessly. I have yet to find a Chinese made trolling motor that has any type of relevant warranty. Amazon also should only allow companies with solid reputations and sufficient customer support to sell on their site.

Limits the depth adjustment of the trolling motor making it very awkward to stow when using main motor. It does a fair job of maintaining a track. I have taken my trolling motor off my boat and now use a sea anchor to slow my trolling speed. A 5 gallon bucket and a piece of rope works just fine for me. 12ft dinghy w/ 9.9hp outboard.
