How do you change the blade?

At the top of the holder by the bottom of the blade there's a slit in the metal. When the blade is extended, one can pull out the old blade and insert the new one.

Is it safe to use on my glass topped stove?

I was unhappy with these scrapers. The blade does no come out properly and lock in place, like my other scraper did. In fact I I have lost one of the blades already. I do not know what happened to it. It was just not in the holder?????? Buy a better one for scaping your stove. I use oven cleaner on my stove top. It does wonders.
