I have straight Asian hair. I want a styling gel to add before rolling to extend the curl. Will this extend the soft curl?

I do not think it will extend the curl, I use it to tame the curls I have. My hair is very curly and this dries keeping the curl without fizz. When I run my hands through it to much after drying it will frizz up again.
