The Pads Are The Best!
I'm a professional dog groomer for over 40 years. I do my own dog's nails and my neighbors dogs, and the pre-moistened styptic pads w/benzocaine, are the best thing I've ever used. Easy to handle and apply to affected area quickly and immediately to soothe the discomfort if a nail gets clipped a bit too short. I actually use both the pads and the dry styptic powder - it's easy to get a little too close if a dog's nails haven't been routinely trimmed since they were young, so if I get a little too close because the quick is really grown out, I grab a pad first to get the benefit of the benzocaine on the affected nail and hold it on for a minute or so, then if there's still bleeding, I use the pad to dip into the powder and then apply the powder to the nail, and again hold it for a minute or so. The combo has worked well on the dogs I've used it on. Highly recommend!

It works!
Unfortunately one of our wiggly dogs got her quick cut during a nail trim recently. I had these in the medicine cabinet and they stopped the bleeding in seconds! I'm sure it made the boo-boo less traumatizing for our naughty pup. It definitely made it less traumatizing for the humans in the house.

Very effective.
I keep these on hand for when Iโm cutting our dogs claws and cut the quick. Using these with a little pressure on it for a short time and it stops the bleeding great. I will say that I rarely use the cutters any more and grind their nails instead so I rarely need these but when I do they are so handy.

easy to use but takes more rubbing than powder
Very easy to use but was not immediately effective the way the septic powder is. You may have to use more than a few wipes for it to work. I have no idea if this is good for pain relief as I used it on my dog. He didn't seem to be in pain though. So hooray.

damage aluminum seal
1st one I order had pin holes in aluminum seal, and had leaked nasty stuff on inside of cap. 2nd one (free replacement ) , had the same holes in seal no longer sterile ) . I check with product maker and they said : ( NO PIN HOLES should be in seal ). here is they advise I was giving (You should discard any Kwik Stop styptic pads with pinholes in the aluminum seal. The damaged seal compromises the sterility and effectiveness of the product, and using them could introduce an infection or lead to insufficient performance when needed for a pet's minor injury. ) No I don't want ANOTHER replacement.

Opened package
Hey, this stuff works period. I have used it for awhile from other sellers. Hard to find the pads compared to powder. Came packaged sufficiently. Now as you see from pictures it was separated from another container and the plastic seal is not present. So I have brown Benzocaine splashed on the outside of container and the foil seal inside punctured. The pads inside are dry and and useless. Price was not that great but, everyone has to make a living. I except a price somewhat higher if product is perfect. I admit I did not contact seller. Iโll eat this loss. Wonโt buy again from this seller.

AVOID THE PADS! STICK TO THE POWDER
I usually use the powder, but thought I'd try to pads to be less messy. Boy, was I wrong. The pads did not stop a minor bleed like the powder would. It took multiple pads instead of a little sprinkle of powder. AND my fingers and nails are now stained orange/brown.... ugh. Stick to the powder, it never fails!

I keep these with my dog's nail clippers and have them right beside me during nail-clipping time! ^..^
I regularly clip my doggy's nails, and I have always kept this jar of styptic pads nearby while clipping "just in case"...in two years of clipping, I had never clipped a nail too short until four weeks ago when, to my horror, I cut one of her nails too short! :'( I opened the jar, grabbed a pad, and placed it with gentle but firm pressure on my dog's bleeding nail. I held the pad in place for approximately a minute and then checked, and the bleeding was completely stopped. What can I say? I am *so* glad I had these pads right at hand when I needed them!! They stopped the bleeding quickly. I will never, ever have a nail-clipping session without having these pads right within easy reach!! Of course, my doggy got kisses, treats, apologies, and hugs; and I am happy to say her nail healed up just fine. I will be ever so careful not to clip a nail too short ever again, but just in case, these pads are an indispensable part of my doggy first-aid kit!!! Five stars! *****
