Coil Hanayama Metal Brainteaser Puzzle Mensa Rated Level 3, for Ages 12 and Up

This is an extremely well made, beautifully done puzzle. Congratulations. Perfectly done from top to bottom. You won't be disappointed. Design, price, material, packaging. All first class. Makes a great keepsake. I was so impressed, I bought several and gave them as gifts. So many are so cute and challenging I had to buy them for myself too. I have a collection now and will repeat this review for all of them. They are just fabulous for busy hands and curious minds. Put them on your desk and coffee table. People can't help but pick them up. They look like they'll last for ever. Again, you will not be disappointed with this product. My bet, you will end up buying more than one ! ! ! !

I’ve owned and enjoyed many puzzles over my lifetime. Hanayama has been my go-to for beautiful, brilliant, inexpensive puzzles. I picked this one up because it looked unique and this thing just ticks all the boxes. It is truly a masterclass in puzzle design and execution. It’s compact, well made and challenging while not impossible or too frustrating. Once it ‘clicks’, it is incredibly satisfying and endlessly repeatable and ‘fidgetable’. It’s everything I look for in a puzzle.

All of hanayama's cast puzzles are great. This is no different. Very nice puzzle. Good challenge.

I purchased "Violin" (Level 3) along with "Keys" (Level 1) and "Coaster" Level 4. I'm okay at these kinds of puzzles but this one seemed more like a Level 2. Everyone is different so experiences will vary, but it took me about 10 minutes to solve "Keys" and over an hour an a half for "Coaster" so when "Violin" only took about 15 minutes, it was a little bit of a let down. The good side is that the puzzle is very well made and while simple to me, is still very interesting. I'm not sorry I purchased it, because I enjoy all kinds of puzzles.

I've gotten this apart one time, but that's all. When I did, I was able to put it back together again. It's a good one. As a gift or even for yourself, know that it's not easy!

I'm new to disentanglement puzzles and this was my first one. It makes a great beginner or intermediate puzzle. I would fool with it a few minutes, set it down, and later try again to solve it. This went on for a couple of days. I finally reached the point where I thought my G&G puzzle must be defective and couldn't be solved. But I kept playing with it and like a miracle the two pieces separated in my hand. I was overjoyed!! Didn't quite know how I did it, but it gave me confidence to rejoin the two pieces and try again. Now I can take it apart quickly and easily in just a few seconds.

What I love about this puzzle is that casually looking at it gives you almost no feedback as to how close you are to completing it. Even looking very closely it's very difficult to understand what options you have. So its visual feedback is hard to get, but the tactile feedback is incredible. The way the pieces are molded makes the turning and moving extremely satisfying, and fidgeting with it gives you more information than you can get by looking at it. Even after solving it, it's still fun to play with and it's become my go-to ADHD fidgeter.
