The Hashimoto's BIBLE!
I've read pretty much everything out there on the subject of Hashimoto's, and I can honestly say without a doubt that this is the #1 resource in existence on the subject. Dr. Wentz has been leading thinker on Hashimoto's for years, and though her book Root Cause was excellent, this book takes things to a whole other level. It's not only much easier to navigate, but also lays out the path to recovery so simply and clearly. The unfortunate reality of our world today is that we are suffering from massive information overload. And there are few places where this is more true than on the subject of hypothyroidism. On the one hand, we have many mainstream conventional physicians who believe that little to nothing can be done for Hashimoto's except to give a prescription for thyroid hormones (which will require ever-increasing dosages as the thyroid gland is progressively destroyed). On the other hand, we have a mess of various people suggesting all sorts of lifestyle and diet interventions that are often not supported by science (for example, one notable thyroid guru who has a large following of people advises to consume large amounts of orange juice, milk, refined sugar, and to avoid omega-3s and green vegetables at all costs. I'm not making this up.) In short, we have a mess of information that has the potential to easily lead people down paths that are ultimately likely to either leave people feeling like there is nothing they can do except pop thyroid pills, or alternatively, sort through a mess of information to figure out how to implement diet and lifestyle changes to benefit their thyroid health. Dr. Wentz has done all the hard work of sifting through this mess of information, and through the scientific research itself. She has also hugely advanced the entire paradigm of how we think about hypothyroidism with her "Safety Theory" -- which by the way, is genius. This book is not just about covering up symptoms -- it's about getting at the root cause of the problem. And Izabella guides step-by-step on exactly how to correct each of the root causes, from her slow and gentle liver support and detox approach, to fixing your adrenals, to healing your gut. It's all laid out in easy-to-follow steps. To sum up: If you have Hashimoto's, get this book right now. It lays out the exact steps you need to take to reverse your symptoms and get your health back. Make it your health bible -- study it and implement it, and you'll be on the path to recovery. -Ari Whitten

Life Changing - THANK YOU!!!
This book has really changed my life. I purchased this book over a year ago and continue to feel better every day. I never knew Hashimotos was something that could be reversed until I came across this book. I used to be so fatigued that I would come home and go straight to bed every day after work and stay in it basically until the next morning - most days I would be exhausted just by sitting upright in a chair after a few minutes. I started stuttering, had brain fog, random chills, swelling, weight gain, ice cold hands and feet, would constantly get sick (colds), allergies, nausea, couldn’t remember things, and anxiety. I used to seriously lack the discipline to follow the protocol in its entirety for 90 days so I just started by doing about half of the things she suggests in her protocol and immediately started to feel better. I am now doing the full protocol and can’t believe how amazing I feel!!! I was told by my Dr. that my Hashimotos and it’s symptoms would only get worse and the only thing to be done was increase medication doses until my thyroid actually died. My doses are now cut in half and my antibodies are down to only 47 (originally 600 +)!!! I never thought I would see the day!! I feel so much more informed about what is happening with Hashimotos and empowered to advocate for my own health. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to feel better and have purchased several copies and gave to friends/family who have Hashimotos. I have seen several Dr.’s and felt I was getting nowhere. I never found one who made suggestions or one who seemed to acknowledge that remission was possible but I was able to find one who was willing to run most of the test this book talks about and that was very very helpful. I now have more than just the one dream of health and only have you to thank; If you are reading this Izabella THANK YOU for all of your hard work and for giving me hope and the tools to advocate for myself and achieve health!! Thank you a million times over!!! Tip: I also downloaded this book on audible (you can get two free audible books if you have amazon prime) so I could listen to the book while driving sometimes and have found that to be very helpful!

I love that Dr Wentz was brave enough to use her ...
I love that Dr Wentz was brave enough to use her own personal experience with Hashimoto's to help others...I admire that she stepped into a calling to fill the gap! So many doctors speak from a place of text book knowledge, but not personal experience (ie. a male OBGYN, an Oncologist who has never been through cancer treatments, etc). Though not their fault, there is comfort in knowing that Dr Wentz truly understands the difficulty of navigating life with Hashimoto's. She comes across as relatable, compassionate and determined to share what has made a difference on her remission journey. I also appreciate that she is a medical professional, so with her personal experience, we benefit from the best of both worlds. I was thrilled to see how much she reminds the reader to be their own advocate...no one else lives in our body. If we feel that a doctor is not listening or brushing off our symptoms, we can seek out another. We tend to forget that we are customers in the medical system, and we have the right to choose. Encouraging the reader to take charge of their health and seek a variety of professionals is very empowering. I hope her book gives permission to readers to be proactive in their health care decisions. The one thing I would have found very helpful would have been a chart on when to take all of the supplements (time of day). Each of the three protocol phases have many amazing supplements, and the quantities are given, but I can't imagine taking them ALL first thing in the morning. I sat down and made a chart to spread them throughout the day; some with meals, some are not...would have loved some additional guidance in this area. Hands down, this is the most comprehensive, honest, medically sound and personally useful book on the topic....nothing comes close. This is a "whole person" approach, not just medical jargon. It is a medical professional speaking in layman's terms, with personal experience and practical solutions to helping each of us achieve our best health on this journey. Would highly recommend to anyone overwhelmed by this diagnosis who wants to make the most of taking steps to reach optimal health and thrive!

Wonderful, at last answers to what to eat and what to do in terms I could understand.
Do you want a book that finally tells you how to help your body and thyroid in terms you can understand with brain fog? Steps to helping you help your body. I am not a scientist. I just wanted help. This book is the answer. My doctor even recommended this book and Isabella Wentz's 1st book. I praise God for my doctor and Ms Wants for finally providing answers to my questions. Plus, in steps I can do. I saw changes in the 1st few days. First, from all the sugars fatigue. Then followed energy. Slowly but surely it came. I washed my first window at the end of week 1. Major accomplishment for me. I started looking weight. I am still in the 90 days, but have seen so many changes. I am so happy to finally read about someone having the same problems I was having. I thought 1 time i would tie a white band aid around my head because my mind and body was sick, but no one would believe me. Finally, a doctor (who read these books 1st) recognized it and ran the proper tests. Then, to read Ms Wentz describing the way I felt. That our doctors said it was just all in my mind. Take this med or that med. More side effects, and no changes. It is devastating to have a doctor tell you there is thing wrong with you, just don't be such a nervous anxious person. I could not stop. To have friends fall away because they were overwhelmed by me. Like I said I am still doing the 90 days, but there are changes to the better. I am ready to stop taking more meds and eating food to heal me. I was sure I would starve on this diet, but to my surprise I am not hungry. My body seems to crave the smoothies and other foods. I hope to add more good news as I contjne my journey. I look forward to meeting the real me. I hope this helps many more people.

A Must Read for Hashimoto’s Sufferers!!
I’ve had thyroid disease for 23 yrs. Graves Disease, remission (3 & 1/2 yrs of anti thyroid meds), low thyroid (very common). Recently, my Rheumatologist diagnosed me with Hashimoto’s disease, due to elevated inflammation & infection markers from labs. My TSH levels swung all over the map, from extremely low (low means too high), to over 6.24 in a matter of weeks (too high means too low). Fast forward 23 yrs later, & I have 4 autoimmune diseases now (again, not uncommon). No Endocrinologist or Rheumatologist ever looked at me holistically, asking me about my diet & nutrition (foods to eat & those to avoid), or much on needful OTC daily supplements. My research mindset led me to Dr Izabella Wentz @ thyroidpharmacist.com. Both her website & her book have been a needful treasure trove of her personal journey, as well as practical research that led her to healing & wholeness, from this thyroid disease. Her pharmacy background led her to research food pharmacology. Simply put, its foods to eat and foods to avoid, to heal our bodies as best as we can from Hashimoto’s. She’s not anti prescription meds, but she has also researched the science behind key supplements. If you value looking at your Hashimoto’s & other autoimmune diseases holistically, then this is the resource book you need! Dr Wentz also has a FB support group that is invaluable. Ask questions & someone on her team will get back to you. Her website sends weekly articles that have recipes, info on supplements, and the like. I’m so thankful for all of her comprehensive research. This book is not a difficult read. For those that like to read research studies, she has links on her website. I owe a debt of gratitude to Dr Wentz. She’s added to my proactive healthcare mindset.

Do LOW FOODMAP foods if you try the change
Read with caution. Has so many insightful things that affect Hashimoto's. However one big mistake I made (wish she would have addressed) that if you go through the protocols, especially in the beginning. it's a shock to your system. The first 3 days I cried for no reason and emotional. By day 4 felt great. Then about day 10 all "h*@#l" broke loss. I ended up at urgent care for abdominal pain, cramps, bowel issue, gas, fever, etc. Missed diagnosed. Went to my doctor and said I was 'issues' from change in diet. Did more research aside from this book and found out that if you are going gluten free (in my case dairy, soy, sugar, etc) you need to be on low FOODMAPS. So if you're going to make this drastic change, do the homework and stick to low FOODMAPs first. Maybe you'll be lucky and not have the problems I've had. There are also a lot of conflicting things. One we are to remove eggs and grains/seeds but they are in her recipes. It is overwhelming. After two weeks have taken a break from the book and just doing gluten free dairy on my own. The book has amazing information but so much of it is confusing and way over my head.

useful
Time and money can be a problem when you're trying to implement the suggested changes to get yourself better. Tricky to get the right products outside the USA. The book is a great place to start though.

Well worth reading
Very informative. Newly diagnosed and getting no to wrong info from family NP and really didn’t know what was happening to me. The information I received from reading this helped very much and learning about and going on the AI Diet helped how I was feeling which gave me back control.

Veramente grazie!
