Offering excellence in Pilates training since January 2007, The Body Garage has become a leader in the Pilates community in the North Texas area within a relatively short time. Near the hospital district, yet adjacent to the beautiful Mistletoe Heights neighborhood, this beautiful studio is both accessible and "off the beaten path." The facility was renovated from an old machine shop, offering high ceilings, refinished hardwood floors, brick walls, and natural light coming from several directions. The "garage doors" are a unique architectural touch. The Body Garage offers state-of-the-art equipment including convertible Reformer/Half Trapeze (Cadillac) Combination and Combo Split-Pedal Chairs. The "Infinity Footbar" and"Revo Springbar" features on the Balanced Body Reformers are something you must see in person to fully appreciate - they provide many more ways to perform the same exercises with a new emphasis. Pilates is an exercise system developed by the late Joseph Hubertus Pilates. A man of vision, he was constantly exploring and discovering new ways to train the whole body. The system focuses on core strengthening, breath, balance and body alignment, with an underlying philosophy of "mindful" exercise rather than "mindless" exercise. Co-owners Jacqueline Todd and Kerry Kreiman have extensive backgrounds as professional dancers/teachers/choreographers as well as many years experience as professional Pilates trainers. They continually strive to bring many types of kinesthetic knowledge and experiences to their classes to foster continued growth and development for clients of all ages and levels of experience.
