24V 40VA Thermostat and Doorbell Transformer, All Versions of Ring Doorbell

I purchased the EPLZON 24V 40VA Transformer primarily for a non-doorbell application: powering my whole-house humidifier. Even though it's marketed heavily toward Ring and thermostat systems, it performed flawlessly for my HVAC accessory needs. The installation was straightforward, and the unit immediately supplied the necessary 24V power. It has been running continuously for weeks, maintaining a steady output with absolutely no operational issues or excessive heat. This 40VA rating provides plenty of headroom for various low-voltage devices. If you need a dependable, high-quality replacement or new installation transformer for any compatible 24V system—whether it’s a smart doorbell, thermostat, or a humidifier like mine—this EPLZON model delivers reliable, consistent performance. Highly recommended for its versatility and flawless function!

This is a good product. It replaces the transformer that seems to sit, lonely outside my AC unit with the coils in the fan. The inside part of the central air conditioner. Not the outside part. One little reminder. Turn off the power before you connect it. It turns out if you accidentally touched the two connectors together with a metal screw driver- it doesn’t matter how smart you are. You’re gonna be ordering a new one. I figured I could order four of them and it was still less expensive than an air conditioner guy coming to my house and replacing it. So it’s still a win just win better than me.

I returned it as I did not need it. Doorbell chime did not feed off of doorbell. Both are wireless.

The output voltage was inconsistent, dropping too low to properly power the attached device. Under load from a single HVAC damper, the output was 19.6VAC — though it varied from 19–20VAC. Unloaded, the meter showed 16.9VAC (lower than the loaded reading, which underscores the inconsistency), with input line voltage at 117.3VAC (nominal 120V; generally accepted range is roughly 114–126V). Depending on the sensitivity of your voltage needs (simple standard doorbell), this may work for you, but I wouldn’t use it for a smart doorbell.

Purchased this to increase power to my Ring doorbell Pro. Even though my house is only two years old the16V transformer was inadequate. In the Ring app, it said my power output was level 2. Just enough to keep it powered, but not adequate to make my doorbell chime work when the button was pushed. I also know that the old transformer was very hot when I took it off meaning it was being overworked. Now since I installed this new one, I’m at level one power output, and my doorbell chime works loud and clear. Actually better than it did before. The only negative thing I have to say about this product, the mount on the transformer was bent pretty badly. But I used the wiring port to screw it to a face plate instead so I didn’t need the four screw mount. Great product, easy to install size is typical for a transformer like this. Definitely Ring compatible and I recommend it..

Excellent product, used it to replace old doorbell transformer for a smart doorbell.

This lasted 15 months before it died. Worked well before it died. Not sure how long transformers should last. I had a Ring Pro 2 video door bell and a SimpliSafe video doorbell.
