Wow an amazing product at a great price
Alright y'all, stop talking about a missing diopter, digital optics don't have those because there's no need to adjust to a person's eyes - its an lcd screen just like your TV. If you're not seeing clear, you need to make sure that your hands aren't in the way and adjust the focus. If it looks sort of staticy or pixelated then adjust the IR power, but there is no need for a diopter. The only downside is that the focus adjuster is so close to the illuminator and camera that it takes some getting used to to adjust the focus without your fingers getting in the way. I'm going to try adding a throw lever like in a LPVO to see if that makes it easier. But the pros far outweigh the cons. I've been testing out many night vision optics the past few years and this is my favorite product of this year. It's an amazing value.I got this because I wanted a night time rangefinder and that feature works well, but the night vision is amazingly clear. The quality of the very big screen is as good as my sightmark wraith which costs twice as much. The illuminator hits the 200 yard mark easily and is as clear at 200 yards as 50.The ir adjuster is perfect, but you need to keep in mind what that's for. It's not so much that the image gets clearer when you max it out. Ir 850 nm wavelength is invisible, but the led bulb that generates it is a visible red. So you set it to the minimum setting that gives you the clarity you need and you leave it there. If you're hog hunting, the hogs aren't gonna see the red easily so it doesn't matter. One underrated feature is the screen brightness. All too often you look through a digital optic at night and then when you put it down you can't see anything because the screen was too bright. At the lower settings this doesn't happen with this device and it's still perfectly clear.I really appreciate the rechargeable batteries - typically you only get that high the more expensive devices. The thing that I appreciate the most are the little bonuses like the high quality neck strap and the free SD card already in the device. I didn't think that companies still did that.I immediately fell in love with this device and will definitely be keeping an eye on the night fox company and might check out some of their more short range stuff.

Case needs a strap
These binoculars are great. They work better than expected at this price point. The carrying case, however could use a shoulder strap. Also some type of lens cover and screen protector should be included for use when wearing them around your neck, while walking.

Set your expectation BEFORE you buy
It is not a $4000 night vision setup with image intensifier tubes. Nor is it a $1,200 binocular. This still falls into the "cheap night vision" category. That said, it's a really good set of cheap binoculars. Vision clarity is great in day and night. This thing really shines in low-light conditions. I'm not sure what sensor they use, but it's a really good one. If there is background light such as streetlights around, there is no need for the IR illuminator. It's great that the IR illuminator can be turned off while still operating in night vision mode. My only gripes are the batteries needing a screwdriver to remove, the case, and the fact that there is no lens cover. I wish it ran on traditional AA batteries that can be easily swapped out, but that said, the batteries can still be replaced, and they run for a long time. You can probably run all night with them on. The case is kinda generic and bulky- I dont care for it. I would ditch the case entirely, but there is no lens cover. I would have loved to see one of those come with it, or better yet- a sacrificial lens.Works well for your observation post in the daytime. Nighttime won't work as well unless you are in a city, or dont care about IR light emission.Overall, it's a great device, just know that it isnt going to blow your mind. Like I said, it isnt an "expensive" device. This is what I recommend in the "cheap" category, before you cross the threshold into the thousands of dollars range.

I'm NOT able to charge this new Vulpes
I'm NOT able to charge this new Vulpes device as USB port seems damaged. Nothing for USB cable to slide/clip into: Blank hole where silver female USB connector should be

If you wear glasses you might be holding the out from your face
I think these are very good at the price point. I've tried others at his price range. Only negatives is that the focus ring is very tight to move and because I wear reading glasses I have to hold them out from my face to see a crisp image. But otherwise I think they do a good job over a decent range for spotting wildlife in the full dark. I've also found using them in conjunction with an IR torch rather than the inbuilt IR can be handy and worth experimenting with.

First night tryout- no experience!
I got this set overnight- right before a snowstorm where it was total blackout.I read all the reviews; I don’t have anything to compare these to other than a Gen 1 monocular I pad $600 for in 1990 (probably) and that was fun- until now!OK- haters are gonna hate but these things are a blast! I live in the forest and I have have very few neighbors. My house has some small solar lights but I can see EVERYTHING I probably will need to see at magnification; and this is where I have my one qualm:I would like to have zero magnification and then be able to zoom. With these you are instantly at some form of magnification and get to zoom in. But clarity is fantastic!I have yet to figure out what the 7 modes of IR will reveal but the color in low light is cool as heck and you will see well with these in closer quarters. For the money- I think you could say I’m happy and excited to use these for the purposes I need them for and expand later if I need to.Hope this helps!

Not excellent for daytime use
My husband got these for me because I love to look at birds, flowers and general nature. I assume these are best for nighttime use because both of our sons have raved over how great they are. I expected to see clear close images of hawks, and blue herring, etc.. but they are not clear during the day. I have not used them at night.
