Good Option even for Side Sleeper
I was really looking forward to seeing if the reliefs in the pillow would help me to find a comfortable side sleeping position with my Airfit F30i Standframe Face Mask (air incoming from the top of my headgear) as I needed something that wouldn't push on my mask while I was sleeping, disturbing the seal and fitment. I was fairly leery at first as the pillow looked very flat, but the cut-outs seemed positioned correctly and worth a try. The first night out, I didn't think it was very comfortable, but I've been sleeping with a traditional firm pillow my entire life, so I wanted to make sure I gave this one a fair shot and not just give up after one night. After about a week I was able to settle into a comfortable position, sleeping on my right side, with my right arm tucked under the pillow at a right angle, effective lifting the pillow & my head up some and providing more support toward the upper part of my head. While the air tubes are coming down my cheeks, which does close up the air passage on the side I'm sleeping on, it doesn't seem to affect overall air flow at all. I was easily able to find a position that was both comfortable to my face as well as provided my mask with the correct pressure so as to maintain its seal. I rarely sleep on my back, but even in that position, the memory foam pillow is comfortable and supports me well. I should however note that I'm sleeping in Sleep Number adjustable bed, with my head elevated and the air pressure very low so that my body dips into the bed more than is typical. I'm not sure how this pillow would be with a traditional bed that is flat, but in conjunction with the Sleep Number as I have it set, it seems to work well. While I believe the pillow was designed to provide the most benefit to those that have the air incoming through the front of the mask, as opposed to on the top of the head like my set up, but I do feel that the design of the pillow can work for both types. And so far, it seems to be doing what I was hoping it would. I may attempt to switch back to a contemporary pillow for a few nights just to get a reverse comparison, but don't really want to as now that I've found a comfortable position. It's hard to want to sacrifice the more comfortable night's sleep I've been getting since making the switch to the CPAP pillow. I hope to see continued positive results using the CPAP pillow and test the long term durability of it over countless nights of restful sleep.

Excellent cpap pillow
Comfortable. I like the adjustable height, and that the middle raised area is not too wide - so that turning side to side I don’t have to adjust much to have my cpap over the cutout area on each side.

"COOLEST CPAP PILLOW on AMAZON!
I own an earlier version of this pillow and purchased this one to see if I could get more comfortable with this new design. There are a lot of plusses! This pillow has a lot to like! I love the fabric that's cold when you first lie down. If you need to turn over , the first side will be nice and cool again! I love the fabric as I'm a very hot sleeping person! The foam base seems softer and more comfortable , so that wherever you are positioned, it doesn't hurt your face. I'm surprised that some reviewers comment that it's too stiff. I didn't think that at all. But, I'm a small adult. My neck isn't as long as many adults. I often found my face over the corner of the pillow. Not so great! Because my CPAP mask will slide and wake me up. If there was a deeper cut out for the shoulder, I think my head would rest right next to the deeper cut out. 3" additional would be helpful. I did take the removable foam layer out as I knew I wouldn't need it. I've this pillow. With that said, I still prefer this upgraded version to my older one. I think taller CPAP users might love this version! I avoided covering it with a pillowcase because I didn't want to sacrifice the coolness of the pillow. I wish it was possible to purchase an extra pillowcase with a few color choices! (Same cool fabric)

EXCELLENT FOR SIDE SLEEPERS wearing a BI-PAP
EXCELLENT FOR SIDE SLEEPERS!! My husband has a full face mask for his BI-PAP and was skeptical about a memory foam pillow which is much and thinner than he was expecting. I asked him to give it a 3 night trial, and he was hooked after the first night. He can finally get a full night’s sleep without his mask losing it’s seal and waking us BOTH up. This has stopped his grumbling about wearing the BI-PAP. OUTSTANDING RESULT. THANK YOU! NOW MAKE A CUSTOM PILLOWCASE PLEASE!!!!

picture misleading
i've recently begun using a cpap machine and two things have been delaying my success: mask fit when rolling over in the night and my mouth sometimes coming open. since i'd also started to suspect my old pillow was giving me a stiff neck, i went looking for a pillow to fit my new cpap needs. the pictures show this one looking a bit like a cervical pillow (a spot in the middle for my head, some neck support) and a divot on each side for cpap gear to fit into. what i received was a very flat piece of foam that, while not uncomfortable, isn't as plush as the pictures show. actually, i worried it was not re-inflating to it's appropriate height after shipment but i've come to realize that's just how it is. because of this it definitely does not act as a cervical pillow to support my neck the way i wanted. the divots on each side are okay, but seem more like a gimmick than a boon. the reason i'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 is because this pillow has proven better for my sleep than the last one. better, but not what i was aiming for in any other way. i need to find some time to upload a picture to prove the height issue.

The best for CPAP side sleepers
Being a side sleeper and full face mask CPAP user for just 8 months, I have been searching for a suitable pillow. After 5 purchases of different pillows, I have finally found the best one with this pillow. .While not perfect (and I will explain why in my humble opinion) it solves the core problem I have had with others. With a full face mask (or any mask or nose pillow) it is critically important that there is no pillow pressure against the mask. If there is, it will cause an air leak which reduces the effectiveness of the mask. Therefore, while one sleeps, the mask itself must rest INSIDE the side cutout of the pillow NOT ON THE PILLOW. And the cutout must be large enough to accomodate the mask, with, ideally, the mask sitting in the deepest part of the cutout. To achieve this, the head does not rest in the center of the pillow !!!! but rather on the edge of the cutout. This is something that many do not understand, again IMHO. (As evidence, looking at photos of other pillows on the website, the sleeper is shown with the mask resting on the pillow.) The indentation for the head in the center of the pillow is fine when I sleep occasionally on my back, with or without the CPAP mask. I like the firmness of the memory foam. Others have been very much too soft. Having written all the above, here are the few, and relatively unimportant, suggestions I would make. 1/ Even though I cover the pillow with a cotton pillow case, I like the fabric used in other pillows better. 2/ I like the fact that the pillow comes with a cushion that can be removed if the pillow is too high. I actually added another bit of cushion on the underside to raise it a bit higher. This is very easy to do. 3/ For a side sleeper, In order for the head to rest on the edge of the cutout at the widest point, as explained above, the shoulder must fit in the indentation on the long side of the pillow. To achieve this comfortably, I would like a deeper “carve out”. Again, this is for me as a side sleeper with full face mask. Perhaps there could be a difference in the depth of this “carve out” on each of the long sides. I hope this review helps in your selection of the ideal CPAP pillow. For me, this one is the best

Great Pillow for CPAP sleepers!
What a great pillow. My husband and I both have CPAP machines. This is pillow is so accomodating to the tubing on the machine. The cover comes off so you can wash the pillow case. This pillow is so comfy! The pillow has two heights, so you can pick the one that suits you. I sleep on my side so this really help with a mask over my nose. I am sleeping better. Going to get one for my husband too!

must have if you have full face cpap mask
in june of 2024, i received my cpap machine. in short order, i came to the conclusion that my very comfortable and beloved pillows weren’t going to work with this machine, it would literally mash the mask in my face. this pillow has cutouts and it allows the mask to hang over the indentation, relieving the pressure off your face. a must have, especially if you have a full face cpap mask. pillow is very comfortable.
