How big are these actually? how can the description be giant bugs but they cause a choking hazard. it does not compute.

The bugs are a fairly large size and I don't think a child could choke on the whole bug. Some of the bugs have wings or other parts that can come unattached and I guess those may be small enough to choke on. They do snap right back together. My grand kids loved these.

Is there a list of the bugs for identification purposes?

No there is not a list of the names of the bugs included in the packaging.

Does anyone know the types of bugs they are?

Dragonflies, praying mantises, lady bug, scorpions, ants, spiders, grasshoppers, rhino beetles...a bunch!
