Pottery wheel
Prompt delivery and fully assembled. Only used a few times so far with small weights of clay and it seems to work well. Ideal to lift onto a small table. A useful first wheel to learn the basics of throwing. The free tools were a real bonus.

Poor build and quality
Terribly unbalanced. Shakes around vigorously at high speed. Ended up going with an Airgoo wheel, costs a little more but well worth the price.

Very mixed quality
The main problem with the wheel is the mixed quality of production. The first I bought, the foot pedal only controlled 120-250RPM so could not slow down steadily when throwing. And jerked into action when pedal pressed. Also the spindle was bent so the whole wheel wobbled. This one I sent back. But I then received a second one with no wobble, and comfortably ran from 30-250rpm. This I have now been using for 6 months and think it is excellent. I have been throwing 2kg, and even up to 3kg on it (at 3kg it is definitely at the very top end) and producing great work. So my advice is to return/reorder until you get one of really tight quality and you won’t be disappointed. I will buy a proper direct drive wheel at some point, but as a starter wheel you can’t go wrong with it. It is a big risk to fork out on an expensive wheel if you don’t know you are going to use it heavily.

Pottery wheel
As an absolute beginner. I found this very easy to set up and start practicing. I just bought air dry clay so I can really practice before I spend too much on the real stuff. I actually found it very fun to do with family and keep all the beginner rubbish to display as we get better. So fun and easy to use. Highly recommend

Not as pictured
Not as pictured. The basin is in two pieces and is detachable. It is not fixed and moves easily so impossible to rest your forearm on.There are two ‘pockets’ in the basin for storing tools. This impacts cleaning the basin, making removal of the basin the only option for thorough cleaning. Very disappointed and I’m now considering returning.
