This cable works with OWC's mercury elite pro, on a Toshiba G65 laptop that has an eSATA port. My laptop only supports eSATA 3G, but the connection- a crucial SSD- was about 20% faster than when I connected the drive by USB3. Using was simple... just plug the drive side eSATA and DC cable, and plug the other side into my laptop. A reasonable alternative if this cable is compatible with your drive and your gear doesn't support eSATApd.

...for reducing cable clutter with my MiniPro 2TB External eSATA, Portable Hard Drive. It's a bit stiffer than I'd refer,, but other than that, it works fine.

Great (but short) cable for connecting your 2.5 Oyen drive via eSATAp, without needing an external power supply. (or the USB cable for power) It should be standard and come with their 2.5 drives. (instead of the regular eSata cable and/or the external power supply)

Product has no guarantee of working with the Oyen MiniPro product (connectivity with your computer; possibly due to 5V only support, even though my HDD is rated for 5V), yet emailing them, they refuse to provide a pre-paid return shipping label for their non-working cable. Since the MiniPro was fulfilled by Amazon at least, Amazon at least provides a pre-paid return label. Be careful; there's no guarantee the MiniPro will work with your 2.5inch harddrive and combo USB/eSATA port, and you will have to pay out of pocket for the return shipping for their non-working product(s). Also, the cable is ridiculously short. Both the stock included eSATA cable that comes w/ the MiniPro (lacking the powered split plug, only eSATA) and this one are just barely long enough to run out of the eSATA port and rest on the nearest surface closest to the laptop/computer, making vibration issues a bit problematic with spinning harddisk drives due to the close proximity of the enclosure to the laptop due to the shortness of either cable. *Note that on my system, the MiniPro powers on but does not work/is not recognized/feels underpowered when using either the stock included wall charger -or- this cable as the power source.

Works great. Just wish sometimes it was a little longer. The cable is about a foot and a half long.
