I bought the (Rite in the Rain - Green Tactical Note Book (All Weather) for my line of work with the sheriffs department. And when your note taking can be the difference between your job and keeping someone bad off the streets, it's important to ensure that your notes are going not only to last, but handle all situations (like weather). I recieved my notebook about 5 days ago, and decided to give it a try, First I noticed it looked and almost felt like ordinary paper, but with a more thick quality with it. I began to write simple phrases on the first page with a variety of writing utensils, I tried an ordinary pen, a pencil, a 0.5mm pen and pencil, ballpoint pens, and so on. Then I tore out the first page which was as easy if not easier than an ordinary notebook. I took it over to the sink area and began to run water on the paper, for about 2 minutes the water beaded off the paper with ease, i turned the water off and examined the paper, it was only wet on the surface, i wiped the excess water off and perfect, it felt like the original paper with no signs of any water damage. This is a great product for someone who may work in an outdoor environment or just near water I highly Recommend this product to anyone in the market for a notebook that not only has quality but is resistant to everyday situations, thanks (Rite in the Rain) for making a great product. I have used these notepads daily since the day of its arrival. I started journaling on a notebook that was gifted to me a year prior, I found random and spontaneous use of it with little to any issue. I was later gifted another product from a friend and I was sold. After purchasing these, I find uses in my every day life without fear that the tears of my struggles will wash away the worldly wisdom that graces every lingering word scribed on its green-hued pages. If you need a notepad, get these and think about investing in their pens too. They do not write well but it feels nice holding a metal pen specifically made for the paper you are writing upon, of which, both are made to resist water which can be useful in many settings.

I've been using these for the better part of two years, I was working in a machinist position where I was constantly swimming in coolant and these note book pads kept my notes exactly where I wanted them on the paper safe and sound. I now work in the industrial maintenance field which is also quite filthy and am now swimming in grease and other yummy fluids and I constantly need to write something down and still these pads hold up to the promise. The pads are perfect size for your back pocket or other small pockets. The front and rear of the pad are a durable plastic or sorts to keep the paper protected and it all around seems to hold up just fine! Don't question just buy you'll be happy you did.

These have always been my favorite notepad, BUT, they have changed the hole shape that holds the top spiral ring binding from small circles to large squares, making the pages shift from side to side 2-3x more than the older notepad style. PICTURE 1 of the amazon page shows the old version with the small circular holes, which I had in the past (also the same pads I thought I was getting), and PICTURE 4 of the amazon page shows the individual pages with the larger square holes. Being a product shared with so many professions including military, I can't believe they would regress in product quality when they were fine as it was. I also cannot believe they list it as the same product No. because, in my eyes, it is not the same product they once made. I still enjoy and will continue using the notepads, but they are no longer as quality as they used to be, which is why I give 4/5 stars. Perhaps a medium size D-shaped hole would be the best of both worlds, it seems obvious, which is why I can't believe they would change the pads the way they did in the first place. On the other hand, I use these notebooks in combination with the Cordura cover, and I don't think I will ever use anything else. I use them for planning my gym routines, which usually get sweat or water on them, and these pages don't smear or warp and stay solid and able to be written on. I occasionally use them in geocaches for the reason that the paper lasts forever even if wet or dirty, and permanent marker doesn't bleed making them perfect for the application. TL;DR: minor changes make them not quite as good as they used to be, but they're still better than everything else

I started using Rite in the Rain products in 2011 while serving with the United States Marine Corps. Fast forward to over a decade and I’m still using their products while working as a first responder. I love that they have multiple sized notepads and I have found this one is perfect to fit in my back pocket. The notepad is large enough to hold on to easily and has enough space for lengthy notes. The tough and thick material of the plastic outer portion, along with the thick pages, handle well while in pocket. The notepads withstands being sat on, manipulated whether in my hand or just the constant movement, and even during the summers when I’m sweating. As mentioned in the details of the notepad, it’s made to be used in the rain. I can say I’ve sweat on the pages and I’ve used while in the rain and have NEVER had an issue with smearing or the pages falling apart like normal paper. I don’t use a rite in the rain pen, any normal pen has been fine for me.

Purchased for outdoor work purposes and they're absolutely worth the purchase. Very durable and waterproof. I actually repurchased for extras. The color is great as well as the size, overall satisfied.
