Easy, Effective, Worth It!
*Update to the update* I wanted to go ahead and update this review because Iโm going to say the 2 caps that fell off were because of user error. We are going on week 4 and she still has all the other caps on her nails! If they havenโt fallen off by week 6 I will remove them myself to replace but I checked them today and they are holding strong! I am still loving these, they are still protecting my furniture and I will continue to buy them! 5 โญ๏ธ *UPDATE* We got these a week ago and since then 2 of the caps have fallen off but they still seem to do their job? Moved to 4 โญ๏ธ since they are already falling off ๐ *ORIGINAL* These were delivered yesterday and I couldnโt wait to get them on. We recently rescued a kitten who is now 4m and loves to use my couches as her scratching post ๐ฉ. I needed to find a solution and these were it since I refuse to declaw. They were super simple to get on and itโs been a day so far, they are holding strong. She hasnโt been able to scratch the couch like usual so itโs a step in the right direction and Iโm really happy with them. I will update this review should any issues arise so I can give the most accurate review but as of right now, 5 โญ๏ธ

Did not work
Bought these for our senior dog. We have vinyl floors. The noise they make is loud. They did not help the dog to have a better grip. When trying to remove them it was a very painful process as the glue really holds in place and the dog is not happy with the removal process. I had to use a sharp knife to slowly peel off each of them. Don't waste your time and money on this

Perfectly Functional, with a Caveat
I want to preface this review by saying that I have a 60lb, 2 year-old Belgian Malinois who is very HIGHLY active. His high energy often translates into jumping up when greeting people or when he gets overly excited (as when he's playing). This isn't usually much of an issue, but I live with two elderly people with paper-thin skin and he has cut them several times simply by grazing them. I was a little skeptical about these at first, but after about two weeks I'm sold. The vinyl caps apply easily (though I'm still not entirely comfortable using what basically amounts to superglue on my pet) and so far, only one has come off. I was worried that my dog would try to chew them off, but he only sniffed at them a little before going about his regular activities once the adhesive had dried. The only real irritation I have with these so far is how ambiguous the sizing is. If you go to the soft-claws website, they do have a sizing chart that you can print out and match to your dog's nail size, which helps. I almost ordered two sizes too small because I couldn't believe my lithe little dog needed and XXL in anything--he barely wears a medium-sized collar! I'm glad I did check the site, though, because the XXL fits nearly perfectly, and I would rather have them slightly large than too small. They also don't look nearly as ridiculous in person as they do in the example picture. I hardly even notice them unless I'm checking my dog's feet deliberately. Though they are on the expensive side, I have found only the front claw covers are necessary at any one time, so one box should last quite awhile. They are less expensive through Amazon than the manufacturer's site, and if you have Prime, the free shipping makes it a clear choice who to order from. The only remaining concern I have is about trimming his nails. They say in their literature that these can last well over a month, which is fine, but I'd rather not go quite that long without trimming my dog's nails. It does say you can dissolve the adhesive with acetone nail polish remover, but I'm less inclined to put that on my dog's feet than I was the superglue, so I suppose we'll see. Overall, a good product that satisfies my needs, with minor reservations. FOLLOW-UP 4/18/2014: Several months in, and these are still performing well. A couple of usage notes, though: 1) Even though it's tempting to put more than the two drops of adhesive the instructions call for into the cap, they become almost impossible to remove. We're on our second round, and while they do come off more frequently only using 2/3 drops, I'd rather replace them more frequently than have to subject my dog to discomfort (and peeling nails) to get them off when his nails need to be trimmed. 2) To get them off the dog's feet, if they haven't come off on their own, the best bet is to trim off the very end of the nail cap, enough that the end of their natural nail is exposed to the air. IF they don't slide off then and there, let the dog run around for a day or two and that natural air channel should loosen or remove the cap on its own. Tried using the acetone to remove the first round (which were really, REALLY stuck on tight), and the amount it took to get the thing off was ridiculous, not something I'm willing to subject my dog (or myself) to ever again. Trust me, use less adhesive and be patient. It works out better for you and the dog, even if you do have to replace the caps a little more frequently.

Good soft protection for worn nails
I'm a veterinarian and so just wanted to let people know that these are soft and you can trim them to fit. I didn't expect it to exactly fit my old dog's worn nail but I trimmed the tip off so it was shorter, just use a scissor. This made a cap short enough to fit his worn nail. I also tried another adaptation by trimming shorter and also cutting out the bottom so it just made a soft cover for the top and sides. That also worked well. It only takes one drop of the glue on each side of the cover to make it stay. My dog ignored them and they are working to protect his worn nail. As a veterinarian I think having them stay a week and putting new ones on is ok so dirt and moisture doesn't cause any issue under the cover. So don't be afraid to adapt them to your pups nail shape and be ok with them coming off in a week so you can clean the nail and be sure it is ok. My dog is 55 pounds, normal size feet for his weight and I got the xxL size.

Would not recommend for long term use without breaks between uses.
We purchased these for our 4 year old border collie, in order to protect our hardwood floors. At first, they seemed like an excellent solution - each set lasted appx 2-3 weeks, depending on how hard he ran on them. For a well behaved dog, putting them on wasn't difficult, and I was careful to check the nails afterwards to make sure that no hair had stuck to the caps & that his pads weren't sticking at all - as careful as I was with the glue, sometimes a little would end up coming out. Occasionally a cap would come off & need replacement & eventually he would start to wear the ends of the caps off, signaling it was time to trim his nails & replace the caps. One thing I did observe when changing the caps out, was that the inside of his nails seemed very soft & spongy - I assumed this was normal, considering he wasn't hardening his nails by running around on them anymore. A couple of months in, I started noticing that he was limping. After eliminating the possibility of injury, I started to question the nail caps. We were able to narrow it down to one of his toes - It took a huge amount of patience & care to remove the nail cap, as it was clearly very painful for him. Once removed, I noticed that the core of his nail was hollow and bloody. I left that cap out so that the nail could air out & heal, but within a few days he was limping on another foot. Same issue - removal was clearly very painful for him, and once again it appeared that the core of his nail was almost rotting out. At that point I removed all the caps from his nails & left them off for good. His limping cleared up very quickly & he has very healthy nails again. We will be looking to other solutions to protect our hardwood, as I would never put him through that again. In conclusion, I would use these again if I planned on taking at least a 2 week break between applications in order to let the nails breathe and harden naturally. I would never go straight from one set to the next again.

Great Product at a Great Price!
Works great and a better price than other brands. My dog has immune mediated polyarthritis and drags his right front paw along the sidewalk when we go for walks. Two of the nails on that paw were scraped to the quick and when I tried shoes they just made him trip. These were really hard to apply at first because the 2 nails were so short but after a month of use (and replacing the nails 3 time) his nails have grown out a lot and they stay on really well.

Terrible for 'added grip', probably fine for 'scratch protection of stuff'
Maybe good for damage protection (to skin, furniture or floors), but terrible for 'grip'. Bought for our 15 y/o 55 pound lab mix who was starting to slip on our hard (vinyl plank) flooring due to loss of rear leg muscle. Provided no additional grip, might even have been worse. Immediately slipped and wiped out. Material felt like a 5 year old pencil eraser, not a brand new one for simple comparison. Hard, not pliable or grippy. If the goal is to not scratch stuff, would be fine. If the goal is to not slip on slippery floors, get yourself some velcro & rubber grip dog socks like we did which work like a champ.

Super cute caps
Adorable claw caps. They do not bother my dog at all. The glue is great and dries quickly. Sizing is right on point. They last quite a while. Super easy to apply. Perfect for dogs who like to paw you or jump. I do wish they were a little cheaper but they work great.

Risolutive! Consiglio di farle mettere da veterinario
Fantastiche! Consiglio!!

Fantastic product, wish I had heard of these sooner!
They lasted a month the first time around. It seems a little less now that it's cold out, I think they get brittle. Indispensable if you want to save your hardwood floors! Our dog doesn't even know they are on unlike when he wears dog boots!

Dried out glue.
Came with 3 tubes of glue. All were dried out. Edit: so i bought some crazy glue and gave it a whirl. its not easy to judge how much glue to use, but application was straightforward otherwise. 2 people required: one to handle the glue and nails, one to keep puppy still. The nails looked kinda funny at first but they grew on us. They started falling off the next day however, probably because I didn't use enough glue. The package came with extra nail caps so I may try again before we refinish our floors.

Next best thing since sliced bread!
I have to say, doh on this one. My cat is 17 yrs old. We've had a lot of ruined sofas and carpeting. A LOT. Why did I wait so long to try these nail caps out??? Had to take kitty to vet this week and the pretty pink caps got their seal of approval, so much so they took a pic of her toes and posted it on the practice web site / facebook. Once they were placed on kitty's nails, she hardly noticed them. And they go great with her pink collar and grey fur :)
