How tall are the zombie figures?

about 1.25" - 1.5" some almost 2"

Anyone every use these for dungeons and dragons or pathfinder? does the scale work for them?

how many of each different zombies are there?

I got these for my grandson and he loves them. There are definitely duplicates and triples of some. Some are dark grey and some light grey. He lines them up and has one color against the other like a zombie army. The repeat types are really not a problem as there are enough different one to make it fun. They are really neat for the price. More detailed than you would think. Hope this helps!

Are these Zombies based from the Walking Dead??

No, but they do capitalize on it. They are in multiple poses and not perfectly proportioned. but these distortions actually enhance their creepiness. Although there are no action heroes to fight them, there are three poses of victims running from them. this set also include two zombie animal poses that are difficult to determine if they are cat or dog and there are two styles of headstones. many of the zombie poses remind you of walking dead scenes.
