Great and easy read for 8+ year old kid. Ny kid finished it in 4 days.

It’s sad when granny dies but very thrilling because it’s a bluff because granny is not a gangsta but using her imagination

Eleven year old Ben's parents are obsessed with ballroom dancing. They dump him at his granny's on Friday evenings to watch their favorite show Strictly Stars Dancing at the studio. Ben hates it. He thinks old people are not much fun. On one such visit, Ben discovers something that changes his perception of his grandmother. I love this story. It's simple and makes fun of a lot of things we are taught to fear and respect. And the grandmother grandson relationship is truly touching. David Williams also visits the subject of parental pressure. Ben wants to be a plumber. His parents think it is a dead-end job and want him to be a dancer worthy of national television instead. While the clashes are comical portrayed, they impart a strong message. A wonderful book. Now if only I can get my nephews and nieces to read it...

Ben thinks his Granny is boring, and he hates going to her house every Friday evening to spend time with her. The actul story starts one night when Ben calls his parents to come and pick him up from his Granny's house because he is getting bored as his Granny does only two things which he hates: drinks cabbage soup and play Scrabble. Granny hears his him and feels bad. She then pretends like a jewel thief and wants Ben to think she is one. Then, they go on a mission to steal the Crown Jewels. Will they be successful, or will they get caught? Read the book to find out?

So funny

Fun read with the kids. It is silly and funny but be aware of the end. We lost my Mom a couples months before we read this book and it was really hard for us getting through the end. Overall it is a wonderful book!
