How many files can it hold? I need a filing box that will hold a lot of files.

100 files if not too full. boxes do not stack atop one another. too flimsy.

What are the best hanging file folder to use? What size?

I used regular letter size hanging files.

Can you recommend exactly which folders work well with this box? bc the pendaflex ones k bought do not hang well, they are not quite wide enough

If you notice, there are no tabs present in the pictures of these file boxes. If you use tab folders the box is not deep enough and there's not enough clearance. The tabs get bent over.
