Will the outer pockets hold my Samsung smartphone?

The zippered pockets no, the open pockets yes. The phone (galaxy note) may be slightly visible if the purse is packed full. I bought this purse just for the easy access to my phone and keys.

What's an rfid-protected phone wristlet? what's the value of being removable?

The wristlet is a small pouch which can protect your credit cards, passport, other IDs that have a chip in them. It attaches to a clip in the center compartment of the purse and is easily unclipped for use in a restaurant or movie. I put my phone, wallet, keys and take into a restaurant or other venues where a big purse gets in the way. So you store the larger purse in a car trunk out of sight and use the wristlet.

I am 6 feet tall. Is the strap long enough to wear as a crossbody wirhout being too short?

I'm 5'10" and can wear it as a cross body; it hangs a bit below my hip and I still have about 2 inches of strap I could let out.

The zippered pockets in the very front are 5 inches by 5 inches. This is a very good bag. I bought it for my trip to Universal and now I use it every day.
